No cricket today either!
I’m going home early!

We've had somewhat of a cooling trend here in the central valley of California. High 80s and 90s. And, once September came, we thought we were done w/the hot weather. We even got some rain last week. But, the forecast says 100* in the next day or so.

So happy I didn't put my stand up fan away..

My goodness, it is beautiful here. 67F, a breeze, and it rained overnight making everything feel refreshed. For most of the day thus far it's been 64F, you can't beat that. I have all my windows open, the breeze is coming in...... just great.

Noticeably cooler today. So far we've had what seems to me an exceptionally warm and dry September. Most days it was in the low to mid 80sF. Today it's hovering around 70F. We haven't had much rain since Debby passed through on August 9th (and left a calling card in my basement). I went out on the south side of the house to look at my catnip and found most plants there have dried up. When I tried to dig out some weeks, the ground is like concrete. Supposed to have an unsettled period on Wednesday and Thursday.

We had the first rain in 34 10 days yesterday & received a little less than 1/2" since late last afternoon. This evening we have another chance for rain. Our area is in a severe drought. With the dry weather, a lot of the farmers are getting their soybeans & corn in that was planted early. The late plantings aren't quite ready yet.

Temps this week will be in the mid-70s, so that will be nice to get something done outside.

Still pretty hot but not as humid here in Central Florida. They're predicting a hurricane to hit somewhere on the Florida gulf coast later this week and we might get some heavy rain from it. Luckily, we're pretty high and dry and have good drainage in the yard. We had a little bit of water in the Florida Room last time but that was only because the rain was being blown directly at the door at a furious pace. It wasn't bad as we packed beach towels around the bottom of the door to catch the little bit that was trickling in. No damage done.

Ok. Scared to leave site in case I lose only contact I've found with my vintager tribe! Want to put a widget on home screen so I can pop in and out. Isolated in Vancouver BC Canada eh!
Yes and yes...some curious minds want to know. :)
Ok. Tks. Don't want to leave page in case I lose you all and become senior deficit again. Any suggestions for how to put a widget on home page so I can pop in and out and get settled into the site?
