The bitter cold has arrived here....4F when I got up this morning, and should be below zero by tomorrow morning. The forecast says we will stay below freezing for the next 5 or 6 days. At least we just had a dusting of light snow...my small electric leaf blower was able to clear the decks. The sun came out a few minutes ago....first time in days.

Today the weather is turning bad here in Ohio. Two days of high winds and rain now transistioning into snow and falling temps.

Next week will be in the teens all week for the first time this winter. Why of why do I stay here!

I've always tried to remember that it keeps the riff-raff out. :ROFLMAO:

WOW does these comments give me perspective. Its been about 60 F all week during the daytime here, and I felt rightly perturbed that it has been so cold. Everyone here is probably laughing at me right now.
About 10F cooler up in the Bay Area.

We stay here because if we don't like the weather now, we just wait a little bit & it'll change again soon. 😁

I'll take Ohio weather over anywhere else because I like the changes. I honestly couldn't live anywhere where it was warm all year around. Especially if it got real hot & humid.

No more snow for a couple days now. Clear sky, and temp is -21C (6F) right now (later morning). House is comfortably warm inside in the western portion, where the main-floor heater is. Bedroom is fine at night, due to a thick duvet. In these cold snaps, I put on a sweater or light jacket when I go upstairs where I spend part of each day.

When the snow has been scraped away so that what's left is an inch or so deep, like it is now, I hardly need a thermometer to know the temperature. You can estimate it closely by the type of squeak the snow makes when you walk on it.

Still having the strong wind storm..plus snow. Erie county NY (Where Buffalo is) has a travel ban. And Governor has declared a state of emergency,
The Bills were supposed to play today but it has been moved to Monday.

Snow expected with a high wind advisory and also squalls to follow snowfall.
It is 23 here with 14 degrees as the wind chill factor.

Squalls are awful- I never experienced them until I moved to NY. They are a band of fast moving intense snow that can completely obliterate visibility. Usually they dont last too long but can be very dangerous when driving in them.

I think maybe I should stay home today.

Our first major snowfall overnight here just east of Lake Huron, the dog was just about dragging his belly when I let him out first thing so probably around 6 or 8" down with more promised. Radar saying we are right under a squall line but as daylight arives it does not seem to be snowing very much but then here in the wood its often rather deceiving!

Here in western PA (across the border from Youngstown, OH), we've been very lucky so far not to have much of anything. Winds were high yesterday but no snow.

This morning when I got up it was 14* and we had gotten at least 2" of snow over night. The winds are still very strong. The sun is bright but I'm sure there isn't much warmth. Staying in and keeping warm.

Seven degrees this morning, still windy and we had a light dusting of snow overnight.

I went grocery shopping at 7A.M., came home and when I opened the door from the garage into the house that nice warm furnace generated heat washed over me I thought "I'm one lucky SOB". lol
