2025 - How's the Weather Where You Are?

When I woke up this morning it was 32°F. There was frost on my car's window. It was football and hockey weather, so I wore my winter coat and a sweatshirt to work. 5 or 6 hours later, it was 72°. Baseball weather, so I wore a tee shirt home. In a little over 5 hours, the weather became 40 degrees warmer!

A very mild morning. Temps predicted to get near 80F which is much more than normal. It seem we've either had unseasonably cool or warm weather. Right now it is overcast and rain predicted later, followed by much cooler temps.

Between a couple of major rainfalls early this morning and again this evening, there is over 4.5 inches in my rain gauge. Both storms were severe, and there were tornado watches all over the area. We've been in a minor drought condition for the past month, but this should drive the numbers positive. I wish we could get 1/2" of gentle rain every few days instead of these "washouts".

Drove past an area hit by a March 30 tornado touchdown again on Friday. Rural area, though a number of homes and buildings took a hit.

Closest to the road where I could get a goof look a lot of downed wood has been cleaned up but there are still broken and twisted trees. The track or path is quite visible though.

Fields around the track are yellow with last year's tall grasses in fallow fields. But as I approached I thought I was seeing an area ponded with water or something. As I got close, the track of the touchdown had the grasses knocked down hard and they were an eerie silvery-grey in color.

No idea why. Perhaps the grasses there got particles of topsoil embedded into them?

No room to really pull over and explore. While traffic wasn't heavy it's a 55 mph zone.
