2025 - How's the Weather Where You Are?

41°F at home, rode up to 8700' to look at the fresh snow, then up and over to the north end of the valley.

At the north end of the valley it was a brisk 51° F, random clouds generated by warm lake water and cold air overnight. Unfortunately the clouds enshrouded many nearby peaks in the range.

It didn't get below 77F in my house overnight. After tying a temp record yesterday (96F), probably lucky to get it down to that. Just as hot today with another shot at the record.

I’ve been feeding horses twice daily for the better part of 65 years. I have to say that today and this eveNing was the absolute most brutally humid day I have ever experienced.

Even taking up sailors language there STILL aren’t enough scum-gutter, adjectives and adverbs to describe today’s miserable weather.

I have two-42 inch barrel fans in the barn. By 11 this morning they were pushing nothing but hot air, but the horses thought that was better than being outside.

The metal fasteners on their portable feed pans were hot to the touch. The counter in the barn was hot to the touch. The water in the two outside water tubs was almost scalding so they got emptied and refilled. I have never ever ever seen anything this bad in terms of extreme heat and humidity. sadly it’s supposed to stay this way for the rest of the week.

I wish to Sam Hill the heat dome that we are under would just move out to the Atlantic Ocean and leave the population on land alone.

Sounds rough. Hopefully you're taking care of yourself w plenty of fluids and rest, etc .

Thankyou🤠

The weather folks say today (Wednesday) will be worse yet, but we should SHOULD start seeing a bit of relief Friday.

I can’t afford to get down. I carry water and soda crackers to the barn. I can’t go like I used to - not even close, so I get enough rest.

I also keep an ample supply of Boost High Protein in the house. Not near as tasty a cold pizza used to be, after barn chores but a lot healthier🤠🤠

Given what the 4:00 AM local weather is saying, I will be at the barn no later than 6:15 this morning. That gives the horses a chance to eat without too much weather stress then go to pasture before it gets too brutal. Cold Hosing them (and me) a couple times today isn’t out of the question💦💦

89F right now, a bit cooler than yesterday at this time, but still fells muggy. The temp in the house got to be 90F yesterday - that's the highest I've seen it since I lived here and it didn't get below 80F last night. There was a power outage last evening for a little over 2 hours, so, of course, no fans. I grabbed a comforter and a pillow and went down in the cellar. What a boring 2 hours with no radio or TV, but it was comfortably cool.

It sounds incredibly uncomfortable, and downright unhealthy. Hope that the wx starts moderating soon.

I just checked the online temp here - 91F at the moment. A tad cooler than yesterday when we again tied the record high at 96F. Hopefully this will be the last day of excessive heat. Much cooler temps forecast for tomorrow. Good - I have to deliver meals.
