2025 - How's the Weather Where You Are?

Thanks, @Medusa; we are! It was particularly stressful because it was nighttime, so I couldn't really see anything. And I've heard that when you can actually hear a tornado, it's too late.

Last time a tornado hit I was still married, so I was able to text my ex (a meteorologist) and get detailed information.
That does sound scary! Glad you're safe. 🤗

89F with index of 100F, 75%humid, enuff already.....
I was telling my wife how they make such a big deal out of the windchill in the winter but they seldom tell what the heat index is around here and I know that the sunlight makes it a lot hotter.

Today was hot. Not 100 but 90. I drove a housemate to an appointment that was supposed to take just a few minutes. Well it took over an hour. At about 50 minutes I took my cane an hobbled into the building. The air in the car doesn't work well especially when it is idling. I felt I might pass out and I am in poor shape anyway. How do people do it? Not everyone has ac.
We have an 18 Explorer and we had it on Max Air for a while on 93*F day.
That air was too cold so we turned it on Regular Air and the air started coming out warm.
I noticed that the screen still said that the temperature was on Low.
I adjusted the temperature up a few degrees from Low-60* to 62* and the air coming out got cool again.
So the Max works on low but the regular a/c has to be adjusted UP to get the cool air working again.
Just an oddity I guess.

I can't remember if I already posted this, but when I moved to Missouri from central NY I mentioned the concept of a heat index to my family. My brother-in-law scoffed at the idea of a heat index. Well, he and my sister came out to visit. The heat index one day was 117 🥵. He stopped scoffing after that.

In this office right now, with 2 fans going, it's like an oven it's 33 deg C....

Downstairs is cooler at 29 deg with the fans on... and I've just been outside locking , and the temps have dropped so much out there it was like soooo much cooler... it's 70 deg f outside...at 10..35pm..I might sleep out there...

Well the rain this morning lasted just 2 hours... it brought the temps down by about 7 degrees inside the house, so now in this room at 5.40pm with the windows open , its 26.1 deg..instead of 33 deg as it was at 6am

It's Sunny again, and 75deg f... 15 deg less than yesterday
