We did get rain yesterday that must have thinned the freaking Corn Sweat covering us, The air is less dense than it was.
But otherwise.. another day, another "Extreme Heat" warning.....ok, ok we get it, now surprise us with a 78 degree day with a slight breeze,
I vaguely remember those
According to the news this evening, today was the coldest July day since the 1990s only one degree (C) difference between the highest and lowest temperature.
I think the rain gauge must be broken because there was about 15mm in my gauge just before it got dark.
Another "scorcher". It's just before 10 am here and the temp is already 82F. Even with fans in a doorway and in 2 windows, I couldn't get the house temp below 78F last night. Heat advisory from noon to 8 pm. Forecast promises some moderation by tomorrow.
Brutal. Bucking Brutal. So brutal today, the air was so hot in the barn that the fans are pushing, the horses wouldn’t even go in.
I went down there at 11:30 AM and sprayed them off to cool them down. That way they can at least get in the barn away from the flies and the air will feel cool to them for five minutes if they’re lucky.
we are supposed to have a cold front come through on Friday. What that really means is temperatures will drop into the mid to high 80s degrees and the almighty humidity/dewpoint will hopefully lower.
