Garrard County, Kentucky had a 3.1 earthquake Sunday morning. That is just NE of Bowling Green. I think they may have also had a tornado watch or warning.
My area of Middle Tennessee is in āweather alertā mode. I was in shorts/t-shirts at the barn all weekend. We hit 75° yesterday which tied a 150 year old record for that date.
It has dropped to 39° and we are quickly dropping further. It has been raining off/on all night with wind gusts strong enough to evaporate what moisture is on the roads; at least I hope thatās the case, since my road does not have any winter maintenance. Sliding down the three-quarter mile long hill that is barely more than one lane does not appeal to me

I donāt think weāre going to get freezing rain or snow where I live, but the temps are supposed to keep dropping as the day goes on, and probably hit the 20s by 8 PM tonight

.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, is supposed to be the same weather, but by Wednesday, we are predicted to start warming back up into the 50s, which is normal for us this time of year.
I looked out the window at 4 AM and I didnāt see the horses so they have tucked themselves away in the barn. I have had horses in the past that preferred to stand out in this weather and look like icicles. My Dutch Warm Blood likes the cold weather, but not that much. The Arab much prefers being inside.
I make sure they have plenty of free choice water, salt, hay, a good hind gut supplement, and hope for the best. Yes I worry about them in these extreme weather swings, especially the guy thatās more or less 30 years old.
