I'm talking about my state of New South Wales, Australia. I'm quite sure that a certain amount of luck is behind this outcome but credit must also go to the state government's campaigning, contact tracing and other behavioural measures to reduce the likelihood of infection. The level of community co-operation is also a big factor.

NSW has recorded 28 consecutive days of no locally acquired COVID-19 cases ā the longest stretch with no community transmission since the pandemic began.
Key points:
Two cases were recorded in hotel quarantine in the past 24 hours.
- The previous longest stretch without community transmission was 26 days
- NSW Health said the milestone was "pleasing" but warned there were still cases in hotel quarantine
And 16,302 people were tested in the 24 hours to 8:00pm Saturday night.
The previous longest stretch without local cases was 26 days, when no cases were diagnosed in the reporting period between 8:00pm on November 6 and 8:00pm on December 2. The 28-day stretch represents two average incubation periods free of community transmission.
