Three thousand six hundred Eagles and other protected birds were killed by these 2 idiots for money. They face a 5 year prison term if convicted, plus a $250,000 fine. I hope that the state sues them in civil courts for whatever property they may own, such a land, houses, vehicles and equipment as the proceeds of crime. JimB.

Yep, makes me mad alright! I've seen a few of them but not many. There's one that sits on a bridge I pass often and at certain times of the year, it sits so majestically on the top beam... beautiful bird! šŸ¦… I always greet him with "Guten Morgen, Herr Adler." (Yeah, I talk to eagles and other flying, crawling, or creeping creatures... I'm allowed!) I hope these monsters get a lot more than 5 years. :mad:
 
To not be misleading, 3600 protected birds total were killed, of which some were bald and golden eagles. Quite sad and a throwback to the days of ignorance when all of the passenger pigeons were killed and almost all the buffalo.

The commentator meant........This SHOULD bring the death penalty. Of course that will not happen. Some US States still execute convicts using a variety of methods. One of the western US States has the option of death by firing squad. How nuts is that ? JimB.
 
It absolutely infuriates me. I am fortunate to live in an area where they are plentiful. I see them every time I get out on the lake. One day as I was sailing I heard the report of a shotgun from a nearby tree covered shore and watched in disbelief as a seagull fell from the sky into the water a short distance from me. Even at this senseless killing I was so enraged I called out to him so I could come ashore and teach him a thing or two. No excuse for such meanness
 
I;ve watched several show of the Texas Wildlife rangers, and it
amazed me how many people are just totally ignorant of conservation, wildlife rules, habitat, etc....they will just go out
and gun down how many animal;s come in front of them, regardless of seasons, etc....it is really sickening....

Despite the signs that are posted all over the reserves.

Maybe wildlife services should use a maximum of 4 or 5 beginner-reader words; "Kill animals, prison fer shur" ...something like that.
 
There may be different rules and penalties since this happened on an Indian Reservation and if the two men are native.
 
We hunted and fished all the time when I was a kid but it was always only for food, always with reverence for the life that was being taken. The understanding was that if you kill it, you eat it. All life is sacred.

I have seen a video of someone being electrocuted and I have to agree. The firing squad would be much quicker. I remember when they executed Gardner in Utah and also Gary Gilmore, both in Utah. They interviewed the stateā€™s attorney general and he said that they use all professional sharp shooters, but only one or more have a live round. That shooter is not aware of who has the live round. It is not known if more than 1 shooter is using a live round, but regardless, the shooters donā€™t know who is using live rounds.

If any were shooters they would know who had the blank by lack of recoil in the weapon from no bullet and lack of pressure with no recoil or almost none.

Freedom, yes, but not the right to live. The netherworld will take us all in good time and we don't have the right be judge, jury and executioner for others.

Clearly, it only applies if they're guilty. But if so, we have every right to judge. It's a society that belongs to everyone.

I have fired both. I have always thought it was about the sound than the recoil, but then again we used headsets to lower the decibels. Iā€™m not sure how high grain the duds are compared to a live round. However, even on the documentary that I watched from the Utah AG, he said the shooters also stated to him that they could not tell if they had a live round or a blank. Maybe itā€™s the powder or grain that gives the feeling. I never got into that much. I do know, I would prefer being shot in the heart instead of sitting in the electric chair. It took Bundy almost 2 minutes to die in the chair and itā€™s very painful.

Utah uses a 30 caliber rifle through a slotted hole in a wall to fire their rounds. Gardner, who was the last person executed in Utah, was declared dead 2 minutes after the firing had ceased, but it didnā€™t take that long to kill him. He was hit with the 30 caliber bullet directly to the heart and the coroner and doctor who were on site both stated he died instantly. They didnā€™t say if he was hit by 1 or 2 shots.

I have also witnessed an execution by lethal injection. Itā€™s very peaceful. After they release the Potassium Chloride, which stops the heart, the coroner or whoever declares the person is dead told us three different injections are given. I wasnā€™t there as a witness, but as a guard for crowd control. There have been instances back when Pennsylvania actually executed people, all kinds of things went on inside the execution area. Pennsylvania still hands down the death penalty, but not since 1999 did we put anyone to death.
