3 football fans found dead outside their home. No cause of death yet.

What a bizarre case.

Autopsy results are under suppression

As of Tuesday, police Officer Alayna Gonzalez confirmed the death investigation remained active and ongoing and no new information had been publicly released in the case.

Forensic Medical in Kansas City where police said all three men had their postmortem exams conducted told USA TODAY the results are under suppression by order of the Platte County District Attorney.

"Until that suppression status is lifted no information or reports will be released," Lauren McDaniel with Forensic Medical wrote in an email.

Tanya Faherty, a spokesperson for the Platte County District Attorney's Office told USA TODAY Monday the reports "are closed records under Missouri law at this time."

What's disappointing if not surprising is that some of the departed were fathers/parents. Why the heck are they 'partying' like college frat boys. Guarantee some of these guys were not new to partying with drugs. The game watch party was just another excuse and cover for their drugging.

There is a whole other issue, which you touch on here, that rarely seems to be addressed. Drugs come across the border and into the US. Guns are going the other way. But when it comes to drugs, that wouldn't be an issue if there weren't a huge market for it. So the real question is, why is the market so large? Why, in the richest country on the planet, are there so many people looking for a high? What is going on in society where this is common?

This is not an attack on the US and it's culture - which I adore. This is true around the globe. There is, I suggest, something in the human condition that drives both rich and poor to take these risks.

I always have a bad feeling if something is under suppression by authorities. This is nothing which endangers the national security. So why is it under suppression?
They might have 'a' suspect or two if one gives up their drug source. They probably don't want to scare off any potential suspects. The host supposedly has moved out of his house and checked into rehab probably to get his story together and not talk to police. No one is talking about the 5th man/attendee.

I'd say unless someone adulterated the drugs themselves I don't see much in the way of charges. The families are probably lining up a civil suit.

The more I think it about this sadly is going to wind up being another drug overdose story by drug addicts. The host admitted to that by checking into rehab after greeting the police with a glass of wine in hand. The three deceased since they're using multiple drugs are experienced 'users' to say the least.

The fentanyl supplier and/or provider will be where any charges fall. If they can file.

Turns out there was a 5th man at that party and the owner/renter has since moved out of that house.

MSN

I can't believe they wouldn't speed up the toxicology reports since 3 died at once. If nothing else they could issue a warning about a batch of tainted drugs legal or not if an OD was the cause.
Apparently, if you know what drug you are looking for, that test can be done quickly. But, otherwise, it's a long list of trial and error tests to get to find a drug.

The fentanyl crisis in the US just wasn’t getting the attention it needed for the past several years.
Last year (2024) numbers had 100,000 deaths in this country, and that number is down from previous years.

This is a shocking statistic:

The estimated number of drug overdose deaths in the U.S. for 2024 is nearly 100,000, with fentanyl being a significant contributor, although specific numbers for fentanyl deaths alone have not been detailed yet. The overall trend shows a decline in overdose deaths compared to previous years.

The only thing "shocking" to me is how many stupid people there are taking these drugs.

How many stupid people there are walking around, standing on street corners, is scary.

It isn't a drug crisis, it is a stupid crisis.

Sitting back and letting China have such control is what is stupid.

…. China sending shipments (drugs) over the borders North and South is what has brought us to bad times with our neighbors now.

Demand drops so will the supply. These fans voluntary went to a party knowing their would be recreational drugs there. I guess a championship playoff game with some beers and food isn't enough for them.

Most of them had other stuff in their lives that most wouldn't jeopardize like kids, careers, partners, a fiancee etc. Most were 30 something which means they had plenty of time to grow up or out grow the teenage party culture.

Defense lawyers are going to play up their voluntary drug use at the party and in the life in general. A civil suit stands a better chance than criminal charges.
