3 Guesses As To What I am Procrastinating Now?

I did my taxes the end of February, and refund was direct deposited two weeks later.
Seems like a long time ago, but I have always done my own for decades. I actually enjoy doing taxes. Over the years I've done several friends' taxes for them.
I hope you have a quick and easy time of it once you have started them, @Michael Z !

I just finished the taxes. Yes, it's four days later. I have a mollywhopper of a headache... I do federal, state, and local all at the same time to get it out of my face all at once. I've never waited this long... gets worse every year. Anyhow, thank you for the "motivation/shove" in bringing it up, @Michael Z or I may have been rushing to the post office on tax day. 🤭

I need chocolate 🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫 ... a whole lotta chocolate, and there's not a morsel of it in the house. 🥺

I am still working on mine! On the phone with MN dept of revenue right now, listing to their maddening "on hold" music which I swear is designed to force folks to hang up to avoid insanity. I am retired and a WI resident, yet MN withholding was taken out of an early retirement incentive payment. Once I get this last question answered I can finish.

Last 8 yeas taxes have been super simple. All our 1099r's, dividend, pension & interest statements have shown up by Jan. 24th. This year refund was faster than ever. E-filed on Jan.24th. Refund was direct deposited to our account Feb.1st.

I remember the good old days of filling out the long form for taxes & the amount of documentation we had to save to make sure everything was accounted for. One year I transferred money from a 401k to a self directed IRA. I didn't fill out the part D form showing we didn't take physical custody of that money. I thought the transfer documentation would cover that. I was WRONG! The IRS wanted $55,000.00 in unpaid taxes plus interest. Had to go to the IRS office to clear up that error on my part. I didn't have to pay that amount.

But that did trigger an IRS audit for several years.

Well, I was going to procrastinate, but I think I'll do it tomorrow.....

I usually do it the first week in April. Which starts tommorrow , don't know why I do that ??? All my necessary information comes plenty early , it's just me ?

And i don't complain about my taxes either .... it's just the cost of living here.
