Going back a generation or two:
- My mom (1915-2002) grew up on a farm and learned how to drive work horses -- out of necessity. Unless you're Amish, nobody has to learn that today.
- I'm in my 51st year of earning a living as a tool/mold maker. I learned a lot of things when young (mostly handwork) that are no longer necessary for young moldmakers to learn today -- because computerized machines can do it.
I can do all that. However, reading slowly is painful.
I offer my left hand when someone puts out their right. I find I get a friendly squeeze rather than a business grip.
But you know how to feed a baby!![]()
