6 letter word challenge

Would someone please tell me what it means to add 1 letter. The above has added 2 new letters even thou the one letter was already there but by using it again makes it a new letter. There are just a few people that have done this and seem to get away with it so what is right should apply to everyone. In other words you are safe to use more than 1.
 
Sheesh, lighten up, Citygirl. You are right that the word "Attack" changed two letters, obviously a mistake. But why accuse people of "getting away" with something? Why would anyone cheat in a game like this?

So she made a mistake and changed two letters. Good heavens, does that mean the world is coming to an end? (If someone constantly, endlessly, continuably, and predictably makes mistakes, that is very different from someone making a minor error once in a while, which we have all done.)
 
@Citygirl. My apologies - I triple checked that word before entering it, but obviously still missed having changed 2 letters instead of 1. I wound never intentionally cheat at a game, nor do I believe the rules don't apply to me.

Guess I'm out of the running for this game's big cash prize. 🤪

All this said, I can't seem to come up with a new word for Caftan. Perhaps someone with a more adept brain will bail me out.

Sometimes a T is used as a poetic version of a word, such as spilt instead of spilled. So, how about flankt?

It may be our only escape
