9 Dead 16 injured in Dayton Ohio

I don't believe in the world we are living in today there is such a thing as a safe place. I worry everyday about children in schools, going to a movie, shopping and even going to church. I wish I had a solution to the problem but sadly no one has a solution.
I agree Sassycakes. Awhile back, I read that women with dark hair who drove black cars and lived in ritzy areas, shopped in ritzy malls were being abducted from those places. And how many times have we seen residents say "Nothing like this ever happened like in our (nice, safe) town." It seems the world has gone mad. Mass shootings should not be "the norm" yet they have become so. Every time I go into a public place, I make a plan in my head as to how I would escape or hide if a shooter came in.

As long as our population grows, no place is immune from these killings. By the odds, smaller towns are less likely to experience them, but if you think they "can't happen here," there is always a chance that you will, one day, be in for a rude awakening
Lived at the edge of civilization for the last four years
Unfortunately, that is where the gun toting degenerates seem to think it's a place to shoot em' up.
And where those unable to abide in society seem to settle
I never left our cabin unarmed
I always had artillery nearby while at the cabin
Now, living in the city, I feel comfortable not carrying
Plenty of law enforcement to take care of stuff
Out there, the law didn't recommend or advise...they stated...'carry....keep a firearm at hand'

The shooter/MURDERER had cocaine AND other drugs in his system. Was shot at least 24 times. And fired at least 41 shots.

Cocaine is bad enough. Wonder what the other drugs were?

Also they said he was shot at least 24 times but found 52 exit holes. Keep in mind he had a bullet proof vest. Vest or no vest many would've dropped after the first couple of shots, not 2 dozen.

His thinking already convoluted probably even more twisted by the cocaine and other drugs.

What about the claim @ one point, that he killed himself ? I guess 24 bullet holes sorta shoots [pun intended] that theory in the ass ?

Yes, I agree. I never remember hearing about mass shootings until about the last 30-35 years ago or so. They are a pretty recent phenomenon. And they are mainly committed by young men. Sure, sure there are some that are by a different age group, but it's striking how often it is committed by a young man. We had better start committing time and resources into finding out what is happening with them.

I agree that these violent video games could be a part of it. It boggles my mind how parents allow their kids to be playing with these video games for hours every day. That is lazy parenting. Some other things that pop into my mind are anti-depressants, drugs both legal and not, our food supply, what are these kids eating now? Family units have changed. These kids are being raised totally differently than our generation. Our society has changed trememdously in the last few decades. Obviously not for the better in a lot of ways.
So true
