A calm, peaceful day in Ethiopia.

Watch the people crossing the street.

Crazy

This is a major intersection with no traffic lights.

In this time lapse video we see the intersection at Meskel

Square, the nerve center of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

While the square is a primary site for the city's large festivals

and celebrations, it is also a chaotic crossroad for thousands

and thousands of vehicles daily.

Lots of places in the world are like this!
Not that it's like this in England but we don't have the crime of jay walking either, and can cross a busy road [or not] at our own peril.

Sorry to get political about this but this seems to be the direction the "government is the problem" people and the Libertarians want us to go. Not only am I in favor reasonable traffic laws, I'm in favor of enforcing those laws with surveillance cameras at every intersection.

People cross the street like that with traffic lights in some parts of NYC, but heres how that city looks i real time, though still you risk your life crossing that way, the cars aren't moving all that fast.

We had a traffic jam yesterday on my gravel road. About 6 truck went past my place. I knew all of em but 1. I dont know what the world is coming to.

Well, with what, 16 lanes of traffic, you're going to have some problems if you don't install at least a few traffic lights.

And maybe a pedestrian bridge.

I have been to places like that.
Everyone has the right of way. You are in trouble if you look left/right before crossing.
LOL

Yeah, I agree with April, speeding it up makes it look more dangerous....sorta like a bee hive or ant hill! Just the opposite in hair commercials: sloooow mooootion!:)
