A flower a day ...

I had these Astilbe in my garden. Not this many, but just enough.

Flowers are a nice respite from the hell in L.A. and various other impending disasters.

Have no idea what flowers I've already shared so forgive me if I'm repeating myself. This is my favorite Lupine, Cobb Mountain one that grows up my way somewhere. I love it for the metallic looking foliage mostly but flowers are pretty nice too, or maybe it's just because the foliages sets it off so well? Very hard to come by. I grew this one some years ago and have a promising young one going now. Hopefully.

Another jolt of frivolity while Rome burns down south. Pulling for you Los Angeles!

This is a Bilbergia, a bromeliad that doesn't form a cup to catch water which can actually be planted in the ground. But with these big colorful flower bracts hanging down it is better to plant them high. These replace the Agapetes I loved but could not satisfy in this location.
