A Food Funny

Maybe not funny actually, but women like her do exist. I was lucky to share most of my teen years and young adulthood in her Sunday kitchen. No one could make sauce like her, or her meatballs... not even her own kids.

The apron, the earrings, just like this. But mine had a fancy eyeglass necklace... you know the kind. After a dozen or more people and kids were fed, she'd stand at the table with us ladies and eat a bowl of salad with cottage cheese or ricotta. Coffee.

Heading home this AM, stopped at the convenience store on the way out of town and looking over the bags of snacks, had to laugh

Chex has a couple of their individual bags of snack mix labeled “Stuck in Traffic” mix or “Had a Salad for Lunch” mix.

Honestly in advertising!
