A Good Movie "The Water Diviner"

I saw this film last evening.

A really good film produced and directed by Russell Crowe and a appropriate opening day in rememberance of "Gallipoli" where Anzac troops were used as Cannon Fodder by the Brittish in WW1. A real Black Mark on Winston Churchil's biography.
 

I saw the trailer for that movie and thought it looked good so it's nice to hear from you Lon, that it's worthwhile. We'll have to check that one out! Thanks.
 
Hubby and I went to see the movie , I personally found it interesting but way to much blood, (Killing) which you have to expect in a war film but I'm not fond of war movies

It's interesting how different people view a movie. This was not a movie that I would ever label a War Movie despite there being war scenes that took up no more than 20 minutes of a two hour film.
 
The war scenes are necessary to tell the story of the three brothers but the story is not about war. It is about love in its many forms. I liked the respect afforded to the 'enemy' who were defending their homeland against invasion. I find it amazing that the Turks have been so generous towards Australians, but they are an honourable people.

They would be be even more honorable if they would acknowledge the Armenian Genocide.
 
Every nation has its black history that people try to deny. Ethnic cleansing is not uncommon but usually denied.
Australia has its own shame that we have only recently begun to come to terms with.

Movie prices in my part of the world average $8.00 to $10.00 and & $6.00 to $8.00 for seniors (65 +) That does not seem high to me.
