A long intro and a even longer one from East TN with love (brotherly & sis type)

Oh my! My intro turned into a bio! For those of you that don't want to read all that stuff, I am going to condense it to a paragraph or two. Why am I leaving the long version? It's kind of like throwing out edible leftovers, I have an aversion for wasting food.....or font! Lived in East Tn & FL til teen years, Joined & mustered out of the Army, went to university 4 years ending with a BA & three extra years of elective credits, I just loved campus life, but didn't have the background to earn a masters.

Made a better than avg living until an Motorcycle accident took everything but gave me God in 1990. Took five years of operations to screw and glue me together, and still dealing with problems (mostly infections). When I was able I took my motorcycle to AK, stayed five years but came back to TN like a salmon finding its birth place. It's a bit of a struggle financially now*, but at least the home is paid for. I am able to do enough to keep me occupied, but cant make money doing hobbies! Well, I left a bunch out, but I hope to get top know you all'. I have issues with health in my early years (you know 40 or 50's) like RA and diabetes which limit all things even typing on the PC! I hope I don't upset anyone if I don't answer all, its not by choice. See youal' in the forum.

Greetings to all Republicans! Forgive me the latter was just a bit of levity, I am actually Independent and vote the issues, not the party. Getting back on topic, I discovered something absolutely profound today! That profound discovery was I really am sixty-sixty years old! After intentionally not thinking about my age for most of those 66 years the truth ambushed me this morning in the form of new pains and things that used to happen that don't. Sorry about the use of code talk, but as a newbie I don't know what offends the general readership here.

Ok, the bio stuff; I was born in East TN in 1954, lived there and in Coca Beach FL more or less until I was 17 years of age. I graduated H.S. and the world seemed to beckon with unlimited opportunities until my on again off again girl said she was ...um' pregnant. She was lying but I didn't know she just wanted money for an abortion. I did what I thought was right, I married her and joined the army during the draft so I would have immediate income. I was still in basic training when I received notice my darling was divorcing me! This is getting too long so I am going to lose the details etc. I went to college earning a BA after getting out of the army with an hon discharge, mind and all body parts intact (a psyops spec didn't see combat, usually).

In the late 70's til the 1990's, I felt lucky because I worked all over the world for an international company. Almost stayed in AK, but come home and did life until July 3 1990 when I wrecked my Harley Davidson in a high speed crash. That changed my life for the worse, to use an total understatement. For five years I rehabbed etc, but the crash damaged me so severely it made working at my old Job impossible. The fact that I was heavily addicted to pain meds over and over with each operation (five over five years) hurt me as bad as the accident. In 2009 I went back to AK for five years on a Harley I constructed, but this time I was sober! Bikes and alcohol are a death-sentence. Speaking of death, the best thing, no that doesn't sound right, the silver lining of that M/C accident was the NDE (near death experience). When I was unconsciousness I couldn't see, by that I mean I didn't have visuals like in a dream, but felt as if I were immersed in water, when a 'voice' said' 'do you want to die without knowing me?' Well heck I didn't say YES! I said NO! Before I could ask or say anything else I woke up in a trauma center.

So the accident saved my real life. Well...anyone still awake? Sorry for the length of this intro/bio. I dropped out of HS to get married so even with a even with the Bachelor Degree & three more wandering years of electives I have huge holes in my education, especially English Grammar 101. I hope to be an assert to this community as well as learning some stuff, like how to shorten up my rants? ~

MrLesSure .. very interesting bio! I think you will find topics here which you may find interesting.
By the way, this is a "no politics" forum :)

from Toronto!

Hi Pinky Thank you! I have already found several threads I am going to respond ! My favorite subjects are many but cosmology and astronomy are among the top ones. Actually I am replying to one about 'backwards' time travel. No politics? Oops'! l should have read the rules and will confess I didn't. I am so happy you informed me of that. I almost posted as my avatars a photo of a prominent politician with a big red X spray painted on it! Ha I am going to get banned even before I begin! Well, thanks again

Thanks for the kind words Gaer, btw that's unique (in a good) way sc name!) and StarSong (not to be left out your sc name is thought provoking, also in a good name). I once got into quite a verbal food fight when I posted a thread where I said titles, i.e. names of groups etc can reveal something about who created the name or title. It didn't get heated until someone asked if I thought the same thing about sc or user names. Of course like a dummy I said yes & provided some examples....then it was on!

Probably the reason for the word slinging was that we were all long term members and friends and relatives know which buttons to push for effect!

Thanks for the advice, and karma works because I was doing something unselfish that gave me the urge not to post my first choice avatar! School? At this moment too much is going on to consider going back to school. I've been in an familiar funk for longer than I usual, but it seems more like a tar pit. I'm sure I will get out of it before I go the way of the mastodons, well unless something unexpected happens!

A fella with morals, great!
Pepper wants to learn you Standard Engish, with all the squirts, squiggles and dangly
things: No, NO, No, it is a grammar czar trap.

Write the way God intended, just like you talk.
I can learn you redneck writing and talking-it ain't free.

Welcome from NJ. I stopped driving when one day while motoring along I suddenly lost the hearing in my right ear completely and partially in my left ear. I had just proceeded from a stop when suddenly a motorcycle came up alongside me and the fellow was yelling at me. I never heard him and he was in the blind part of my car. I was so shaken up, that I pulled over and rested before going home, very carefully. I never drove again. Scared me half to death to say nothing of that cyclist.
