A Miracle Happened on THC

I have been a pot head for 55 years. I can't smoke anymore, and haven't, for several years.....so I started taking capsules and vape about once a day, after the day is done. My "source", licensed by New York state, ended capsules. I don't know why. I checked other legal "dealers" and they seem to have stopped this sale as well. So, began looking at gummies and tinctures. After about a month of experimenting, I have found the proper dosages and products for Me.

The gummies, tinctures, more expensive than the capsules...........I have to be careful how I spend my money. Yesterday, I used the tincture & a 500mg gummie. I wouldn't do both in a day it is too expensive. But I did.

The Miracle? Yesterday afternoon, for Hours, I was able to walk freely for hours. I usually walk slowly, carefully but I was able to walk in total freedom of movement without thinking about it. I didn't take it outside, as I had no one with me, and was fearful I was only imagining I could walk.........I'm very, very, protective of my physical well-being. I WILL NOT FALL is my Mantra.

I was so excited I called my BFF in Florida. We talked for over an hour. During this talk, I was walking freely and quickly throughout my apartment. I WAS ABLE TO RUN, something I haven't done in decades. I have a long hallway in my apt.

Don't want to spend my days as a stoned head freak, and as I said, can't afford it anyway, but I have a question, please think scientifically if you grace me with an answer.

Why? What happened? Why, in this floating sensation, what physically happened that I was able to walk freely, for hours? I'd give anything for it to be permanent. There wasn't only a difference in my legs but in my whole posture, my physical being.

Nothing like this has ever happened before

I have that very painful neuropathy all day UNLESS ( this I discovered a week ago when the dispensary dude said try these. Sativa gummies.) I took about 7mg of the gummie, and the pain started abating, i took another 7mg...the pain receded further...I took so in 8 hours I took 14mgs and felt better than I have in a long time. I went and got 3 more packs. They are expensive like you say, and I have to use them sparingly. Scientifically, the cabananoid recepters in our body get turned on and the miracle happens. I can't tell you how scientifically...I suppose I could research it, but for now I am using them daily.

Do you know if the tincture or the gummies were sativa, hybrid, or Indica?

AI says :

Why Does THC Reduce Pain

THC, the primary psychoactive compound in cannabis, is thought to reduce pain through its interaction with the body’s endocannabinoid system. Specifically, THC acts as a partial agonist at both CB1 and CB2 receptors, which are found in the brain and nervous system. By binding to these receptors, THC can inhibit the release of neurotransmitters like glutamate and 5-hydroxytryptamine, which are involved in pain signaling pathways. Additionally, THC can alter dopaminergic function, which may contribute to its pain-relieving effects.
However, the effectiveness of THC for pain relief is still a topic of debate. Some studies, such as those conducted by CU Boulder researchers, suggest that THC combined with CBD may have a more powerful anti-inflammatory effect while causing less cognitive impairment. Yet, other research, including a meta-analysis published in JAMA Network Open, indicates that the pain relief from cannabis products is similar to that from placebos, suggesting that the placebo effect may play a significant role in perceived pain relief.
Moreover, the 2017 report from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine found “substantial” or “conclusive” proof that cannabis is an effective treatment for only a few health problems, including pain. This highlights the need for further research to fully understand the mechanisms by which THC reduces pain and to determine its efficacy in comparison to other pain management options.

Do you know if the tincture or the gummies were sativa, hybrid, or Indica?
I am assuming Indica, because when it's Sativa or hybrid, the dealer menu brags, and it didn't. I started with sativa/hybrid gummies at 100mg, they were cheap, but found the 400 & 500mg Indica more effective.

And Paco! It's not just the pain that was relieved, it was my abilities grew significantly, apart from pain issues.

Interesting!

My question/concern would be is it resolving issues or masking issues. 🤔

If it’s masking issues, while providing relief, I would be careful not to overdue the physical exercise until you are sure that you aren’t doing damage to yourself.

I would also be concerned with building up a tolerance that would require higher dosage/cost to maintain the benefits.

Please keep us posted on your experiences. 🤗

@Pepper it looks like THC has anti-inflammatory properties also

THC Anti-Inflammatory Effects

THC, or delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, exhibits anti-inflammatory properties through several mechanisms. It interacts with the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which plays a significant role in regulating inflammation. THC can bind to cannabinoid receptors, such as CB1 and CB2, but it can also exert anti-inflammatory effects independently of these receptors. For example, THC has been shown to decrease the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines like TNF-α, IL-1α, IL-1β, and IL-6 in various cell types, including macrophages and microglial cells.

Additionally, THC can increase the levels of anti-inflammatory cytokines like IL-10 in some models. However, the effects of THC on cytokine production can be variable, with some studies showing that THC can also increase the production of certain pro-inflammatory cytokines like IL-8. These mixed results suggest that the anti-inflammatory effects of THC may depend on the specific cell type, concentration, and context of the inflammatory response.

I tried CBD-Q gummies for anxiety the last time I quit smoking. It did nothing for me. I have heard of a lot of people who report really good results from both CBD and THC. I am sitting on the fence.

In the past 15 years, I have smoked pot three times. Different places, different people, different sources. Every time I spent an hour afterwards vomiting violently. Never again, thanks anyway.

However, @Pepper, this is very interesting. Like @Aunt Bea, my concern right now is what may it be masking?

OR...is it possible that perhaps the explanation is unexplainable? Wouldn't be the first time I have seen something like that. Rare, but I have seen it happen.

Fingers crossed, whatever it is!

I’m not good at expressing myself. 🤭

if you hit your finger with a hammer it hurts and you stop hitting your finger with a hammer.

If you take something to mask or eliminate the pain you may continue hitting your finger with the hammer until you damage or break it.
Duhhhhhhhh. I can't understand worse now! :ROFLMAO:

In my opinion and experience it is masking the pain receptors for awhile as it has done for me. I toke and vape but don't bother with gummies or chocolate (it would take to much time to find out whether I would like it).

I would never overdo physical activities for myself as sometimes I have felt worse the next day. I know I cannot run very much and my body is just not as active as it used to be.

There has been a lot of good information about the healing properties of cannabis, and there are so many different varieties, and each have different properties. Some people grow it and put in a smoothie to drink, and they say that the fresh leaf has more of the benefits than smoking it does.
Years ago, the government encouraged farmers to grow the strain that is used to make rope, which we call hemp. It might still have healing properties, but it does not get people high.

Then, the government banned all of it.
Apparently , there are still places where some of the hemp-type variety grows wild, still leftover from the WW2 time period when we grew it for ropes and canvas. Interestingly, this is why we call it canvas, because it is made from cannabis .
It is not legal here in Alabama, as far as I know; but if it were legal, I would definitely try growing some to see what health benefits it has.

Surprisingly, I feel pretty good today! Hardly had any sleep, only about 4 plus hours. I intend, if the room isn't crowded, on doing a couple of laundries today!
