A Nice Walk ( with photos )

Thats a river in the city ( Adelaide )

I live near a beach but we can’t see it from where our home is ..it’s a short walk to get to the beach, I’d hate to live right on the beach as our neighbours used to live in a home overlooking the water and they could not open their patio door ….as it took both of them to close it again cause it can be very windy here
We can see the ocean from where we live. All the front windows show off the river but we aren’t close to it. We didn’t want a house that close to the water. The wind blowing off the water can be very cool. Plus there are many boats that pass bye. It retricts your privacy. Sound carries very well on the water so we’d have to always watch what we say. We wouldn’t like that. We have friends that live in a cottage right next to the water and they freeze in the winder time. We get best of both worlds.

Today we found a new path to extend one we often take when we go into town. The walk is extended by 1 km. It clearly snowed here overnight. Today I fell. I wore my summer running shoes cause I wasn’t expecting snow and slipped. Tomorrow I will wear my winter hikers. We walked just over 3 kilometres.

The township is fixing up the trails and have reached out to the public for assistance and people have helped. The look out is about 3 kilometres away and goes up a big hill with steps.

On the way back we saw an eagle sitting on the electric pole . My husband’ tried his hardest to scare it away but it wasn’t moving.

Last week while going to pay our property tax we saw 4 eagles. All of them were too far away to bother taking a photo. This eagle sits here often. Half the time passing this post it’s sitting up there.

Here are a bunch of ducks. I should have taken the picture when they flew away.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Patty. In one of your most recent trail photos there is a yellow metal sign on one of the trees. It appears to be a Blue Jay. I couldn't read the sign, what does it say ? For those that may not know, the Blue Jay is member of the Crow family of birds. JIM.

Hi Jim
The yellow sign is all about the holes put into the trees. It shows what type of birds do such things which are downy and hairy woodpeckers. Unfortunately the yellow sign doesn’t show the true colours of the birds.

Yesterday we walked 3 kilometres.
It was the walk near the school. Most of the snow was gone. IMG_6967.jpegIMG_6971.jpeg
We have 8 cords chopped . Four cords per year. These piles of wood are extra . They are behind our house up on the hill. We have cameras on them.

Today it was very cool. We walked about 2.5 kilometres . We would have walked further but I didn’t have winter boots. I fell yesterday so my husband didn’t want me pushing myself. Lol. He takes good care of me. It definitely snowed here overnight also.

We saw 4 eagles today and took pictures of the ones we could. One was in a tree and one was on an electrical post.

Today was 7 degrees but very foggy. We went to pick out our Christmas tree today. It’s about 9 1/2 feet which is perfect for our cathedral ceilings. I’ll take a picture of it when it’s all decorated.

On the way there we spotted another 🦅 eagle . Oh Christmas eagle, oh Christmas eagle 🦅 🎶. It would make a good Christmas tree topper but I couldn’t convince him to come with us.

Foggy walking paths.

Not foggy enough for these lobster boats to go out. They must have gps cause you couldn’t see more than 100 feet in front of you.

Hi Kadee. 🙋‍♀️
I used to grow morning glories around my front door. Theyd reseed themselves every year. They also wilt in the direct sun. It took me a long time to finally get rid of them but I did.
