You clearly have good taste Kadee. I also enjoy staying in places that are well tended to.
I remember years ago we made the mistake of booking a place where if you put a ball on the floor, it would roll to the other side. After that we decided not to book places in advance unless we’d personally been there before.

Yep,my hubs would say…. I’m particular …..the thing is the places we’ve stayed at ,we’d walked past dozens of times while up here for a month each winter , prior to Covid we’d stay in what they called long term rental units
in same area , their meaning of long term meant~ 1 month or more

We traveled to Brisbane today , which is the capitol city of Queensland

We did a walk along the Brisbane river….They have a 2 way walking track….Black area
/green area is for push bikes and skaters
in directions of arrows ….
reason … being this is right on the edge of the very Busy …city centre …..with a major train / bus station nearby
as well as the citycat …ferry which is public transport ..with stops all along the river

One of the many places to get off or catch the ferry , many years ago when we was here in Brisbane, it only had like smallish pontoons to catch the ferry’s ……however this area is very tropical and gets lots of rain ☔️….its not unusal for them to get inches a day …where us South Aussies get excited if we get a few points ( mills )

anyway … the river floods because of the amount of downpours they get …and anything along the river constantly gets washed away ….so now the Ferry stops are up higher on the river bank and more substantial structures

Today we walked along the old railroad track down by the Atlantic coastline.
We met a few people walking and literally almost ran into an ATV racing around a corner of the trail. The guy driving must have been going 35 to 40 kilometres an hour going around a corner of the trail.
We weren’t impressed.

Here are some pics of the trail. We started going one way but changed our mind since it was super windy.

Today we went for a walk in the park.
The park is finally open for camping and picnicking. The weather was sunny and warm - 20 degrees. I wore cropped leggings.

There were plenty of lobster boats out working.

We ran into another woman walking two big dogs. There were some people working at the park today. The water was turned on so we could give our dogs some water.

Here’s a picture that is at the top of the hill.

Here’s some cows being sectioned off from the farm across the road.

Have a great day ‘ya all. Lol 😂

Today we went along the Atlantic Ocean trail. We ran into another older couple walking, a young couple jogging and a young man walking. We also met some people on the beach. They were collecting polished glass and seashells.

The temperature was 20 degrees Celsius with not a cloud in the sky. It was perfect weather with a nice breeze blowing in from the ocean. We walked 5 kilometres..

Beautiful pictures. I love the lighthouse!

Patty. The fishing boats with the high wings are the trawlers, who run "long line " fishing sets. The Lobster boats don't have the need for tall masts as every thing they do is simply putting in the pots over the side connected together with lines and floats, and then later coming back and hauling the pots back over the side of the boat. Two different designs of boats.

Do you collect shells to make things from? I have some that I have polished using a small electric Dremel tool, that came out quite nice that I made into neck pieces and bracelets. JIM.

Wow! You live in a gorgeous area! So peaceful.
Thank you. It is a beautiful area.

Yes. The first boat picture aren’t lobster boats at all. I was going to take it out but love the picture so didn’t. Lobster boats are quite plain and ordinary.

We have a jar full of polished glass. I haven’t done anything with them as of yet. I haven’t done anything with the sea shells either. Looking at them is excitement enough for me. I don’t wear any jewelry except for hair jewelry and even that isn’t often. Dremels are fabulous tools though. I’ve used them quite often.

Today we went into town. We needed to get some Miracle Grow Potting SoIl as well as a few groceries. We saw 5 people altogether. Two couples and one single man who looked a bit lost. I think he took a wrong turn. He passed us walking but the ended up behind us again.
The first is coming alive with ferns and other ground covers. We walked approximately 4 kilometres

We passed a couple of streams.

This years dandelions look huge to me.
What do you guys think? The flower heads are as wide as my feet.

I found a painted rock that I admired so took it home. That’s what they are meant for., burgundy is the colour of our living room and I loved the coloured hearts on it.

Holy Wow! That is a huge dandelion!
My city has a painted rock tradition. People paint them and leave them around for others to find and keep or move.

Cool! Moving the rocks around. That’s a great idea. Maybe I’ll move some around next time I’m there. Thanks for the idea.♥️
