A Nice Walk ( with photos )

Today was warm and muggy. It rained in the morning before we went for a walk and now the sun is breaking through.

Yesterday I walked down to the beach to watch my friend run his sailboat aground.
He's waiting for the tide to go out so he can scrape the barnacles off the hull.

Wow Mr. MoBeans!! Those are GREAT pictures. I haven’t seen many photos of sailboats aground. Thanks for sharing those with us.

Today we missed our morning walk. It was raining and I didn’t want to walk in the rain so we waited and walk later on in the afternoon.
We walked 3 kilometres on the forest trail.

Today was a wonderful walk. We went to the provincial park. It was really quiet today which I guess would be expected after Labour Day.

The Nature Trail at the park. Even the trail is nicely mowed.

In town the Halloween decorations are all out.
There’s skeletons riding bicycles with bandanas on.

Have a lovely day.

Hey @PeppermintPatty …..just letting you know your rain dancing has done wonders :):):):):), we had very an inch of rain last night, we normally get excited if we get a fraction of that …..let alone that much in one night

Thank you View attachment 449215y
Oh goodie. My rain dancing is working. An inch of rain IS good. We’ve been having rain also. I had to do some rain dancing for us also since our walking trails were all closed. Well they are open now. Yayyyy! Walking through the city sucked. Glad you are happy with the rain. I aim to please. 🙏

It’s early here ….8 .10 am to be precise ….so when I get moving and stop making up for lost time for while my iPad was in Apple shop …I’ll go out and take a photo of the rainwater catchment ponds …they must be quite full …
Ive gotta move soon anyway ..cause our local Foodland has got lotsa great spring gardening bargains in special today …like potting mix that’s usually $8 a bag ..it’s $2,95 this week ,so I intend buying at least 6 bags ,as hubby has made me a a upright garden bed I wanted ( on legs ) to plant summer greens / soft leaf lettuce in
I can’t plant on ground level as my resident sleepy lizard eats them ..:)

$5.05 off IS a great deal. Go while the goings good. Maybe you can take a picture when it’s all done. We get deer eating our stuff as well as birds and other animals. We’ve put netting around some things but the hummingbirds get caught up in them, which is no good. Maybe that’s why they left. My husband says it’s because of the season. They have a long migratory flight.

Looking nice and fresh and green in my neighbourhood , thanks to @PeppermintPatty offering to do a rain dance :ROFLMAO:…. we’d suffered lots of very dry dusty times , with next to no rain for over 12 months

This is storm water drainage for where we live , it runs out to sea 500 mtrs away

Just over an inch of rain last night , it was unexpected however we tend to get follow on weather from Western Australia…. it travels all the way right across the Nullarbor along the great Australian bight to Southern Aust
been there Great Australian Bight - Wikipedia it’s stunning / breathtaking huge cliffs

Twelve Months next to no rainfall tough. It’s really tough on gardens. We aren’t sure absolutely it our well. It’s 375 feet deep but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything.

Today is a mixture of sun and cloud with a high of 16. We considered taking umbrellas but decided not to. The first picture is the harbour where most people keep their boats for the season.

The second picture is a look out at the top of a trail. I’ve shown you the main view from this look out several times.

It was a lovely day today even with the bit of rain we had. The sun shone brightly in between rain showers. It was nice. Have a nice day.

Today we went to the provincial park again.
It was 17 degrees Celsius and a mixture of sun and cloud. We saw a lobster boat coming in as we were walking up the road.

Here’s all the potting mix sitting under the garaport in the Trailer ( shed with no walls ) where we used to store our caravan.
Ive never seen the bags of potting mix that cheap

Have you got a watch ,to record your steps / distance/ heart rate / ect @PeppermintPatty ,
personally I think they are good ….and a good way to have records of activity

I’ve mentioned before I’ve ( we’ve) got Apple Watches we bought way back in 2020 , at the time lockdown was happening in Australia ,so our federal government gave us all $700 each to allow us to gather more items needed for a extended lockdown , we didn’t need to as I’ve always got far more than we need in the cupboards and fridge / freezer / preserves in cupboards ….…..and loo paper :):)
so we was never ever involved in rushing to the store to get loo paper, or anything else ~ let alone be involved in scuffles ….to buy items

Anyway we bought our watches …..with the cash we were given .
After buying the watch there was all sorts of stories that doctors classed them as useless ….. but many now believe They alert users to heath issues before the wearer even realises they have heath issues .

Our cardiologist we see once every 2 years ( me for BP) hubs for a -fabulation , hubs was not even aware he had blood clots until A~ Fib showed up on his watch ⌚️ …..and he had all sorts of tests

Hi @Kadee
We don’t have watches. My husband uses an app that checks how many steps we take etc.
My sister in law has one of those watches and she loves it. I got one a couple of years ago and sent it back. Everything on it was too small plus I really dislike wearing jewelry of any kind. I don’t even like wearing earrings or finger rings. They drive me nuts. Once we have a walk logged in with how many kilometres it is then we already know so have it logged in for next time. Most of our walks are 3 to 4 kilometres long. Some are 5 and 6 , then some are 8 to 10 kilometres. We don’t usually walk the longer walks though.

It’s great that your watch picked up on blood clots. That’s really helpful.

It looks like you are already for some early spring gardening. Good for you. It sounds exciting.

Today we went to our forest trail. It was sunny and 22 degrees . It was definitely on the cool side. The river that’s generally flowing rapidly was barely flowing at all. It’s quite dense in the midst of this forest so this picture is quite dark but you see where this water line used to be.

Today was an animal picture taking day. We got some great photos of a chipmunk who was very courageous. It stayed at the bottom truck of the tree instead of running up it. Courageous or perhaps foolish considering we have 2 dogs with us. 😂

Then on the way back home we spotted a fox in the middle of a large field so stopped to get some photos of it.View attachment 447768
It stood there for quite a while then ran off.

It was a great morning for seeing wildlife. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Have a lovely day.
I did enjoy it! Great photos!🤩👍
