A Nice Walk ( with photos )

Today we went on the forest walk. There were four cars there but we didn’t run into any other people. The forest floor is covered with ferns..Some are deep green like they just came up in spring , while others were a

Every once in a while I almost step on a snake. Today was one of those days. Somehow my husband stops me. The snake then froze thinking it was in danger so I took a picture. It then slowly slithered away.

All throughout this forest are very cheeky squirrels. When we walk by what they consider their territory they let out this loud shriek. Every now and then I tempt them and will back up to look back up at them. You’d think they’d back up on the tree but many of them don’t. Many of them either stay put and keep on with their loud chatter or they start coming down the tree like I’m scared of them. 🤪Here’s one such squirrel. In the middle of his shrieking he stopping to de- shell some tid bit.IMG_1826.jpeg Here’s a picture of the trail and a picture of the landscape while driving here.

I love ferns, and those 2 photos are beautiful!
I'll take a longer slower look at the rest of that post, next time. Going to have some supper, now. 😊
I love ferns too.
I hope your supper was good. I just finished my second bowl of split pea soup with ham.
It’s my favourite soup.

Today we went to the provincial park. It was only 14 degrees but felt much warmer plus it was a sunny day. It was a perfect autumn day.

We walked along the nature trail that goes along the beach for a bit

We walked past 2 sitting benches.

The park closes for camping on October 20, 2025. We will still visit but might have to walk from the highway since they lock the main entranceway.

We like walking along this pathway cause we can take our dogs off their leash. If we see anyone we put them back on their leash. At the end of the trail was a man cleaning his camper whom we said hi to. He was from Newfoundland..This park attracts a lot of people from all over the world. We’ve met people from almost every province in Canada, people from the States, people from Germany.
Some people travel here by boat. It’s a small park but a well kept one.

Today we went on the Celtic Trail which is a pathway that goes along the Atlantic Ocean.
It is a lovely day today. The temperature is 18 degrees and it’s a very sunny day.

We came upon a snake again. I almost stepped on it but then looked down and saw it. Good thing I’m not scared of snakes.

Here’s the brackish pond . Usually there’s a bunch of ducks in there but there were none today. Maybe they have flown off to migrate.

Some type of berries which I’m unsure of.

We only met one other person on this trail today and that was a man on a bicycle. He stopped and chatted to us for a while. He said it was a perfect autumn day which we agreed to. By the time we got back to the car there were a few other cars parked there. Maybe 4 or 5.

Anyway it was a fabulous walk. I hope you are doing well and have a lovely day.

Today we went site seeing. The leaves on the trees are rapidly changing so we wanted to spend some time looking at them. Plus we wanted to find the new cell towers that we can see from across the bay. Unfortunately we didn’t find them.

Here are some photos of the places we went.

Today we went on our forest walk. It was 16 degrees and sunny. We met two people dogs. One was a woman with a standard poodle and the other was a man with 2 well cared for miniature collies. The collies were very friendly. The standard poodle, not so much.

Our dogs were very happy with their walk today and so were we. We made up for yesterday’s lousy walk. Lol

26?? Wow you're North! Very pretty.

For sure. I much prefer cooler weather rather than really warm or hot weather. Today we drove to the Atlantic Coast Atv trail..We started walking there but decided that it was too hot ..It was 25 degrees , felt like 29 with no breeze. Our oldest dog is almost 12 years old. She gets overheated fairly easily. The last thing I wanted was for her to get heat stroke so we turned around and went to the coolest walk in the forest.
