Thank you for the info about ‘The Hector.‘I knew nothing about it and neither did my husband.I was also pleased to learn that the reconstruction of the sailing ship The Hector was finally finished and launched in Pictou in the summer this year (2025). You can see they had already started it in the pic I posted earlier of Pictou.

The Hector was one of the first ships that landed in Pictou, Nova Scotia from Scotland on Sept. 15th,1773 carrying approx. 200 Highland Scots. The word got back to Scotland over the years and many, many more followed to 'New Scotland' (Nova Scotia).
I wonder how many Scots today know this story and the influence Scotland had in settling this part of Canada.

We DID however know that many Scottish came to Nova Scotia, Canada. That’s hard NOT to know.
