A place to post short videos of places you have visited (they don’t have to be your videos)

Arequipa, Peru. We ate guinea pig here, a bit of a local speciality. Much to my surprise it was brought out whole, on a hot polished stone.

I’ve chosen this video because it’s a relatively short one. Maybe shorter videos hold people’s attention more?? There is far more to this area of the world than is seen in this video. I’ve spent time (nights) at the top of some of these mountains.

I’ve posted it on another thread some time ago. Maybe it’s worthy of posting here too. The Lake District national Park in Cumbria, England. Just the thought of planning a trip there lifts me. When I’m there the surroundings give me a sense of belonging, as sense of permanency.

I’ve been trying to figure out what the music is called – can anyone tell me?

Try watching the video it in full screen.

The music is by Ian Hughes - "Sceptred Isle." (edited)

The Cotswolds (an area of 787 square miles)

I read a story that Henry Ford had visited the Cotswolds many times, & loved the place. I believe he bought a cottage there. Then had it taken down stone by stone & shipped to the US. Then re-erected in Greenfield Village, Dearborn, by an English contractor. later did the same with other buildings from the Cotswolds.

Edsel & Eleanor Ford’s home looks the way it does for a reason. They too had visited the Cotswolds, & they took an architect along with them. Looking for inspiration for a home they wanted to build back in Grosse Pointe Shores, MI.

I’ve been to all the places/areas mentioned above. Great memories.

This is a place near me on the San Francisco Bay formerly used to dump building materials. For a while it was home to homeless and attracted interest as a place to erect guerilla art. I sometimes I bring visitors from out of our area here to walk and enjoy the sights and views but I also come here to walk my dogs off leash or to let them in the bay. This video gives a pretty good account.

Yes they are, but not only do we see images like this on chocolate boxes, we also see them on official documents. Or at least part of that image on one document I can think of.

The photo I put up of Bibury, looking across a row of cottages in the middle ground, is also seen on an official document that you have. Can you think what that document might be?

I've been very fortunate to have traveled the world in my former career. Here are a few that really stand out for me (not my videos). I visited Sydney twice for business. Barcelona, Singapore, and Buenos Aires were both on business and vacation. St. Petersburg was for vacation. Glad we went 12 years ago!

Another portion of my "Back yard" on the West Coast of Tasmania.
Arthur River and the Tarkine ( The area between the Arthur River in the north, the Pieman River in the south, The Indian Ocean to the West and the Murchinson Highway to the east.

Here is a place I’ve often wanted to visit in the Mexican jungle at Las Pozas.

While the first video is a garden in a sense because the plant life is encouraged and also restrained from taking over completely and it included an incredible folly, this next from Italy is simply a beautiful garden in great setting. I’d die happy having seen either but the latter would be a more comfortable visit.
