A real life 'skip' button.

Our lives are better left to chance, I could have missed the pain,
But I'd of had to miss the dance.
Yes my life, is better left to chance,
I could have missed the pain, but I'd of had to miss the dance.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not some kind of masochist, but the pain, when it is gone, gives us a greater appreciation of the pleasure.

THAT....is a fact

relief.....is a pleasure unknown without pain

When I hang from a tree limb to remove the knife in my lower back, well, it's grand

as for the skip button, as tempting as it may initially seem, I wouldn't skip a thing

the relief now is just too good

especially no longer hearing my wife's deceased grandmother's high pitched, whiny, Fran Drescher voice

My knee-jerk reaction, to the op, was to write: "My two marriages." Upon reflection, however, I saw that my first marriage brought me to Austin, and my second marriage gave me a great family that lasted until things started happening behind my back, due to my wife's disease. So, there was pain, but there were far more amazingly good things that came with the pain. No, I wouldn't skip anything in my life. Things unfold, as things unfold, and we go along on the ride, enjoying what we can, and enduring what must be endured. It's all part of the dance, right?

Except sometimes the pain is never gone 🙁
