A Royal question for the British

I have been watching YouTube videos about Prince Harry.

Do you think there is anything Prince Harry could do to get back with the Royal Family?

I know he did this to himself, but I feel bad for him. My guess is life here is not all it was cracked up to be for him.

I don’t feel bad for his wife. i think she dragged him into this.

I think all it would take is an apology. They are a close, loving family and I'm sure they all regret what Prince Harry has done. I'm sure more than one is itching to say, 'I told you so'. Prince Philip was no fool, I'm sure he got the measure of Meghan very quickly. Prince Harry was determined to have his own way and now he's dealing with the consequences.
He is obviously very unhappy and I'm sure he'll be welcomed back by the family. However, I'm not so sure about the British public. He has treated our queen appallingly at difficult times of her life...the death of her beloved husband and now her declining health. She didn't deserve this.

He is part of the family but he is no longer a working Royal.
He won't be missed because there are plenty of other royals who are active.

He is not is disgrace and has nothing to apologise for.
He might have been born a prince but he is quite free to choose how he wishes to live his life.

His uncle on the other hand...

I don't think either Harry or Meghan would want to be full-time Royals nor do I think they would be very popular, not because they left but because of all that has happened since, most notably the Oprah interview.

At the time of their engagement and wedding, Harry and Meghan seemed very popular with Royal fans and, it is very possible, that they could have carved out a place for themselves and become a great asset to the RF but, it all went sour very quickly and I doubt there will ever be a place for either of them within that instituion in the future, partly because of their own actions but also because it is inevitable that the RF is changing. The recent balcony scenes show a very slimmed down monarchy compared to past times.

If Camilla could be rehabilitated I don't see why Harry's wife should be forever on the outer.
but Camilla didn't cause the rest of the Royal family problems .. especially the Queen... ..Markle caused no end of problems for the Queen, with lies , deceptions, ghost written books... and even publicly treated her own family with Contempt... ther's no going back from that

A sincere apology from them would be a start. They could quote the queen with "recollections may vary" and apologize for their different take on things and move on from there.

Question.....seems I read somewhere that Meghan and Harry's kids belong to the crown. True? or False? I can't see Harry ever being allowed to visit the UK with the kids but without Meghan. What would happen in the case of a divorce, she is an American citizen.

who knows...beggared if I do...

I just googled this regarding the question of the Queen having custody of royal children. So when Charles becomes king he would have custody of Harry and Meghans kids.....in theory anyway.

Doesn't surprise me.. there are some archaic laws with regard to the Royal family. I don't think for one minute Prince Charles would act on those if a divorce was to occur... but it was what Diana feared the most when she and Charles divorced that the Crown would take her children...

Harry and Meghan lambasted his family publicly on TV and lied through his teeth about his father's ignoring him as a child. He and his wife insulted the Queen and her Consort regarding their lack of parenting skills and a simply apology would be sufficient? I don't know what it would take, but the reception he received during the Jubilee spoke volumes. I do believe he's been so beguiled by that woman he married who feels she can simply bring the Monarchy to its knees and I find that to be more than sad. For she is a complete fool.

Interesting question Lee and apparently she does! I didn't know that (thanks Google :))

Under the ruling, the Queen has legal custody over all of her grandchildren including Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. According to an expert, the Royal Family have an agreement with Queen Elizabeth that means she has full legal custody over all Royal children,

and

Royal expert Marlene Koenig revealed to the publication that Elizabeth II has full legal custody over some of the royals. “The sovereign has legal custody of the minor grandchildren,” she said. “This goes back to King George I, and the law's never been changed."

You may be right Lewkat but I think it's their personal resentments which fuels each other. It's a shame that their issues have resulted in their children having very little to do with their wider family.

Soooo technically if Harry wanted to divorce Meghan he could run to daddy for support, not financial this time around but get the kids to the UK and then ask for dads support in enforcing a 300 year old law. OMG I hate to think of the consequences of that scenario.

I agree with you Warrigal, except for on a personal level he probably is missed. I don't get all the Prince Harry and Megan bashing. He served his time in the royal service. He went from being a party animal to a family man. And at least he's not an adulterer like his father! No matter what, he would never become king...even losing out to his little nephews. How do we know he didn't feel trapped by royal life and Megan gave him a way out? He and Megan are doing charitable work of their choosing. People would rather focus on bashing them than acknowledging their good works. How do people know he's unhappy? Quite frankly, I wonder how much of it is spin from the press and so called "insiders" that is racially motivated? I wish them nothing but the best. Here is an article about their charitable work:

I liked Harry, till he started to insult the Queen and the Royal Family,
he has lost the affection of the British People, again by his actions
and things that he has said.

There is a problem with him and his wife, something that we know
nothing about, they say things to the camera, without proof, there
are stories about their own staff, PAs, secretaries and clerks who just
leave, refusing to stay any longer, whether true or they were fired we
will never know, but some very high profile people have left.

Then there is Netflix, they made a big thing about the contract with
that company, being paid a large sum of money to make programmes
about the Royal Family, Netflix have allegedly dropped them, without
saying why.

I am sorry about the "Hole" that they have dug themselves into, but as
for redemption, some of the family, like Zara, might be friendly with him,
he was the favourite with the Queen and Charles, but at the ceremonies,
during her anniversary, she only met them for 15 minutes, Prince William,
didn't meet him at all and I didn't hear if Prince Charles met them.

He will have to beg to get back, if he wants to live in this country again,
but I believe that the public have turned against him and his wife.

I could of course be very wrong.

Mike.

The British tabloids mercilessly hounded them much like they drove his mother to her death. He did not want a repeat performance. They were forced to leave for their safety and sanity.

I think of Princess Diana, and how the British press made her life miserable .... She didn't deserve all that hate.

Harry is definitely his mother's son, and probably can't get far enough away from their endless bashing.
The sad memories of losing his mother, and how she died, will always be with him.
