I personally find nothing tacky about Smiley's remark and I think Rose herself would have laughed. I'm not religious, but if she believed in an afterlife she would truly now be enjoying a fun and stress-free life.
Anyway, wouldn't she be happy that we are still celebrating her life 23 days after she passed? She made an indelible mark on many of us, and that's what living a good life is all about!
