A Scent

Have You A Favouite Scent You LIke.......But Not Perfume.....

Jet fuel——Yeah, I’m a little weird at times.
Yeah, but could be weirder

Me;

Hot tar while tarring a roof

Diesel exhaust at a truck stop

Stale beer smeared with pinesol on a bar

The aroma of a moldy old motel on the coast
with a dash of sea air

an overused ashtray

mop water

cue stick chalk

ear wax

gasoline (not any more....got sick on it)

compost

stagnate, muddy creek water

there's more, but it gets weirder

I hate to ask this, but ear wax has a scent? I never noticed, but I agreed with the others you have listed. Have you ever noticed how certain aromas or a certain song, or food will bring back a whole slew of memories? Even mop water. (I guess.)

Jet fuel brings back a host of memories. Like when I first started flying. I was young and dumb. The fuel truck pulled up to my small jet I was preparing to fly and the driver walked away. I didn’t see him anywhere, so I decided to put the fuel in and get going. Big mistake. These are union jobs and when you do another’s job, you can be fired. I learned that in a hurry. To this day, I haven’t had a tongue lashing like that since that day.

Hey Dog, Did you ever eat kelp when you were in Vietnam? If you did, do you remember how awful that stuff smelled with the fish and rice on it? And that sauce they used. What was that? But it did taste pretty good.
Never ate the kelp. I did however sit down in a village once with an old papa-san who didn't speak a word of english and my Vietnamese words were few and far between. With enough sign language and motion, I realized he was inviting me to eat with him. Sat in front of his little straw hut and we had bowls of rice and fish (heads and all). I noticed some huge roaches the bowl, so politely as I could, I flicked them out. Imagine my surprise when I watched him chow down on those bugs like there was no tomorrow. Guess when you're hungry enough, anything goes.
