A Wine Glass Question

Seems the stemless wine glasses are now the thing to imbibe from. Goodbye to long stem elegant glasses. Visions of old movies where the clinking of a fancy crystal glass comes to mind.

On the other hand chug a lugging out of the big bowl glass with a funny saying on it might be fun.

Actually I like the newer ones, take less storage space and fit the dishwasher better.

I don't drink alcohol. However, I used to drink water, soft drinks, etc., from (cheap) stemmed wine glasses or champagne flutes. They seemed so elegant, and made the beverages taste better.

Now I'm afraid I'll spill, so I use more sensible glasses. But they are pretty too.

Those stemless wine glasses look ugly to me. I suppose others have gotten used to them and think they look fine.

Part of enjoying wine is the experience of a nice glass, so I don’t care for the stemless glasses. Better than a paper cup, which isn’t going to happen.

I have both. I really prefer the stemmed glass, seems to me that everything tastes better from them. And, they look so much better with a table setting.

If it is just me, or me and one of my "known to be clumsy" friends I'll use the stemless glasses.

When drinking wine I prefer the stemmed glass. The bowl glass tends to warm chilled wine simply because of the way it's held.

We have a full set of traditional long stemmed wine glasses that we have used for years. But, my hands are getting stiff, and I cannot handle the stemmed glasses as well as the new wine glasses without stems...

Due to pain in my hands and wrists, I can't hold a wide glass. I drink water from a Dollar Tree goblet. If I break it, it's not a big financial loss.

My wine glasses and champagne flutes are all stemmed.

A few years ago I was trying to start a healthy habit of drinking Green Tea. Just didn't like it, no matter how many times I bought it.

So, I thought I would buy a pretty small mug to drink green tea as a motivator to have a healthy beverage. I can't fool my taste buds. I've stopped drinking green tea, stll don't like it.

I now drink my red wine from the pretty small mug when I sit on the sofa. Less chance of knocking over the stemmed glass.

I got a set of the stemless ones, and don't particularly like them. I mostly use them to drink water, and use my old glasses with stems for wine. It sounds ridiculous, but I think the wine tastes better in them.

I do have both sets. If I'm enjoying male company , it seems more special to use the long stemmed glass. The wine stays cooler, too. If I am having a nightly glass by myself, I generally use the newer stemless glass.

I also prefer the stemmed glasses. Once my sister served orange juice at breakfast in stemmed glasses. It really made eggs and bacon seem elegant!

We have both long stem and stemless wine glasses. I use the stemless for general purpose beverage drinking, but in particular I do cocktail hour with the stemless for my Scotch & soda. We don't actually drink wine much, but when we do it usually ends up in thee long stemmed glasses.

My wife has her Cosmopolitan in a small mason jar with-a-handle.

We have both, and I prefer the the stemmed glasses. Also have my moms crystal which I use from time to time. She always said if you can't use it why have it, and if it breaks, It's just stuff. One of the many things I loved about her.

I don't have big hands. I hold test glasses. Some of them don't work for me. And I don't think these would.

I like the stemmed glasses for wine. I think they look nicer and keep the wine at the proper temperature if you hold them by the stem. I don't drink wine very often.

My little girl dog seems to prefer the stemmed glass. She can just stand on arm of the couch, it is just the right height for her to dip here little mouth and steal a sip when I am not looking.

The stem is so the warmth from your hand doesn’t transfer to the wine. Having said that, the stemless version is a lot more stable. Plus, my wine usually doesn’t last long enough to get warm. LOL!
