Burj Al Babas is a $200 million housing development, located near Mudurnu, in northwestern Turkey, roughly midway between Istanbul and Ankara. Today, 530 castle remain empty and tourists often visit to see the eerie ghost town in real life.

When the developers, Sarot Property Group, fell into recession-fuelled financial difficulty in 2018, the hundreds of castle-style villas were abandoned, mid-construction, the AFP news agency reported.

But there's nowhere to put the cars, on top of one another and no room for front or rear garden.

I remember coming across this some time ago, can't recall if it was here or where it was, and at the time I thought, why.

Such a stunning location, a chance to create a truly grand setting worthy of castle-like homes and grand lifestyles, yet let's duplicate the architectural design of all the homes so they all look alike, then proceed to stuff as many together as we can.

Reminds me of something one would happen across when opening up a children's fantasy/fairytale story book... castles, dragons, and rainbows in the land of make-believe.

You couldn't give me enough to reduce my lifestyle to live there.

Aside from there being zero privacy, it's further apparent that the developer is totally void of all landscape design smarts. Just so hard to fathom the asinine mentality of building a community like this in the mountains, and then clear-cutting the site to eliminate any/all signs of natural growth so it resembles something of that in the heart of an ugly metro centre in a bustling city. Not a tree in sight, no gardens, no shrubs, no hedging, no flowers, no parking, no playground for children, no character, no nothing.

More money than brains.

It looks like someone had the idea to make a subdivision of Disney Land Cinderella castles …. No sense of proportion …. Buildings so close together , when you sneeze, your neighbor will hand you a Kleenex through the window!
