About the game of Pool. What's interesting about it?

Pool is OK as an entertainment but not something I'd go out to play.
We had a regulation size pool table in our rec room when our sons were in their teens. I never was able to beat them. Their friends spent many hours & a lot of snacks & soda while at our home playing pool. So for a great way to interact with your kids pool is a good option if you have the space for a table.

I have been playing pool since I was 10. It was always just a hobby. I never played for money. I did like the different pool halls. One was built in the 50's and had the old style tables. It was always smoky and smelled like beer, both of which I didn't mind way back when. :)

I liked it because it took some practice and skill to be able to compete. I considered myself just a bit above average. I would ask different people to play after watching them. I had a lot of really fun games that way. I also played with some of my friends which was a great way to hang. :)

My son just told me there are a lot of "older" men and women (he's 65) lol that practice where he does during the day. They might be in leagues at night, he said. He enjoys watching pool matches on you tube, too. Or is it Billiards, snooker...don't know the difference?

When I was younger, I shot in a pool league. We played to 100, I had to call my shot, unless it was obvious and all bank shots had to be called. It was fun to play against some really good shooters. My worse game was 100-4. I only had two turns and my first turn was a break.

The world record is 832 consecutive balls run. My best run was 41 balls. Luck was on my side that night.

I've never been good at precision games like pool or the putting aspect of golf. I don't have good concentration and can't repeat actions consistently. I used to play pool in my teens and early 20s, but I've only played a few times since then.

I'm the same, any game that takes a bit of finess I'm not much good at. I played pool almost every weekend for a couple of years in my early twenties, I enjoyed it but almost always lost.

I played in bars when I was young on the six foot tables and definitely lost more than I won. Basketball is another game that requires precision, which is why I sucked at that, too.

I enjoyed Pool when a kidling into late teenhood, it was the only fun option
aside from the single movie theatre in our tiny town....spent many a day and
evening in there, I was jusr average shooter....

The only chances I had to play pool was in a bar, and it seems like a lifetime ago that I've been to one of those. It was "fair' entertainment. We had a ping-pong table set up in the double garage once. I kind of liked that.
My favorite game of all time is one that very few people ever play anymore:

About fifthteen years ago my friends son and other members of his hockey team were in a croquet league, they would set a coarse in the backyard to practice.

It was funny because you don't expect to see a bunch of big tough thirty five year old hockey players in the yard playing criquet. I played a few times with them, is was a lot of fun.
