Last week here in Pennsylvania, in the western part of the state, the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) suffered a terrible loss when a young, 26 year old Trooper was killed in an auto accident. It is still too soon to assign blame, but the area that the accident happened in has come under fire lately for being a very dangerous intersection.
The Trooper was on routine patrol with a fellow Trooper along side of him. That Trooper is expected to recover. The dead Trooper, Michael Stewart, 26, had just moved into his newly built home. I am also being told that he is a big guy, not just tall, but also very muscular and very friendly and with a great sense of humor. Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to meet him.
Michael is the 98th Trooper to die while on duty.
