Actually ‘going’ to the movies

I honestly can't remember the last movie I saw in a movie theater. It had to be in the late 80's. Once you could rent a movie at home and I only had to walk around the corner to get one,I stopped going to the movies. I was so compfortable watching movies at home.

I just went with the family to the CinaBistro (movie/dinner/recliners) a couple of weeks ago to see a new remake of "A Star is Born" with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. I think it's been done 4 times before but this one is better than the one with Kris Kristofferson and Barbra Streisand if I remember correctly. Well, Streisand is a better singer for sure than Lady Gaga in my opinion. But the acting was better.
Bradley Cooper directed it and starred in it. Watch for him in the Academy Awards...a surefire nomination at the very least. He was great. So much better than Kris Kristofferson was. And good directing.
It was a sad story so take tissue. You've been forewarned. I don't mind some sadness if the movie is worth it....and it was. Lady Gaga got better as time went on which may have been because that's also the storyline.
The only thing I didn't like was the F-word repeatedly in the same sentences. A couple of times in a whole movie I have adjusted to but this amount made me uncomfortable. But I would still recommend it if you don't mind the language.

It would have been late 90's, definately before 2001, because it was before we were married. DH and I went to see Tom Cruise in War of the Worlds. Prices were high, but still before you had to take out a second mortgage on the house to go. Move was OK, though with all the modern sound systems, pretty LOUD. We have had no desire to go since. Usually preferring to sit home with out feet up watching from our recliners.

I saw Jurassic World in 2015. Terrible. In Austin, they are now selling movie tickets with assigned seating!!! Guess I'll never be going to see another movie, again. My home theater is far better. Who needs rude/deranged audiences?
I went yesterday. There are some movies (action like Indiana Jones/Jurrasic Park or movies with lots of music) that are much better on a really big screen with big, loud surround sound. I watched Bohemian Rhapsody. Rami Malik was excellent as Freddie Mercury, I love the music from Queen and I actually wouldn't mind seeing the movie again. The critics didn't like it much which to me says if they don't like it's probably good.
