I would have done better as a person had I taken after my parents more.

Well, I am very thankful I did not turn out like my Dad, but I often say sometimes I think I am turning into my Mom... and quickly Lorie or someone is saying to me that is NOT a bad thing... Love ya Mom... RIP!
Never have, never will. Especially my mother who was an abusive raging witch. She taught me what type of person NOT to be by her example.
As I've posted before, anyone who wanted to be a decent person would never take after my parents.
Two of my siblings did - to various degrees.
My brother took after them 100%. He's a deadbeat dad, racist, thief, scam artist & convicted felon who was sentenced to 1 year in jail for fraud. Our parents spent a fortune so he could avoid that sentence. He was the ONE & ONLY person who attended her funeral. Her other 3 kids were too busy.....enjoying the moment, and the relief.
My sister took after our parents about 60% - unfortunately.

Yes and no. I'm not a golfer and I couldn't sell an ice box to an Eskimo, on the other hand, for those who don't believe in inherited genetic traits, we both could wiggle our right ear.

I lost my parents when I was 9, so I don't have a lot of memory about them, but I did look like my dad quite a bit when we compared pictures. My Grandma used to tell me that my dad would go fishing whenever he could and so did I. She would tell me that I was just like my dad with the fishing. After high school, I got away from it, but now that I am retired, I have started fishing again.
