After failed marriages

AZ Jim

R.I.P. With Us In Spirit Only
I met and married my sweetheart. We have been together 46 years on April 20. We are at an age where we both need nothing as a gift but we wanted to give each other something we love. We will receive two pounds of lobster meat (Tail, knuckle, and claws) fresh overnight from Maine. We have bought from them before so we know about their freshness and service. Yum.... I kinda wish we had married a little sooner...

Sounds wonderful, Jim. Happy anniversary on April 20! Sounds like my husband and me; we have abandoned the "gift giving" thing and do something we both enjoy for anniversaries and birthdays. (Usually involves food. :D ) Life is great when you share it with your best friend.

That sounds wonderful Jim, I know you'll both enjoy your special day! We often celebrate special occasions with foods we both really like, perfect gift to share! Early Happy Anniversary to you and your better half, hope it's a day to remember! :glitter-heart:

Congratulations Jim. Nice to hear long marriage stories. We seem to hear less and less of extended marriages as the years go by.

Come May we'll be heading to the cottage in Maine, for a couple of months. We do our grocery shopping in Bridgton (about 30 miles from the coast) and there's a little "take out" shop that sells "fresh daily" seafood, lobsters included and we love their lobster rolls.

Same here. At our ages, gifts are of little concern...we already have everything we want or need...and if anything else comes up, we just go buy it. When we had our 50th anniversary, almost 3 years ago, the kids set up a nice dinner at a nice restaurant, and we had all 4 generations together for a big meal, and private party. Anymore, when a birthday or anniversary comes up, we just take some money and head for the casino...play for awhile, and have a nice dinner.
