Let's get real here.
Out of the blue, two strangers grab you and say they're making a citizen's arrest.
You immediately comply?

I think not.

I just thought I'd put in another side to this one sided discussion,it has not been real or fun.o_O
The irony of radicalisms be it right or left is mind blowing.100os of blacks killed everyday in cities across the nation and its ok because the killers and victims are minority, how insane is that ?Guess those lives don't matter if it doesn't fit your agendas to hate.
Why not go where you can save the most lives instead of being vigilantes of divisions and hate on websites?

Thats not only real its real stupid not to comply with two people who have guns.:D
So you’re blaming the victim for being shot by two people with guns? With this theory, we are ALL in trouble because if everyone is allowed to carry a gun and shove it into your stomach for ‘any’ reason whatsoever, you have to surrender and do as they ask?

Does that really make sense you?

If your kids were grabbed by vigilantes out for blood, you’d teach them to just go along with whatever the killers want you to do?

.. and, if you don't comply, is it their right to shoot you? I think not.

No you don't think at all iss the problem. Not like this man was just jogging down the street ,wonder if he just creised through your house uninvited?

Cliques are like parots no independent thinking .

Because it wasn't just about him you were also talking about the n-hood and it being " all white" like thats a crime in itelf. You changed thr subject not me. Ican go back and show you where if it is what you all want, this site is gone to total bias liberalsim, rename it Balck Panthers Inc,or Maybe Liberals Inc.
Use to be a fair place to post. I don't vote or belong to a " party" so not much bias here on my end. I think its all a big fat club and we ain't in it.G,C.

Simply because some of our opinions do not agree with yours does not mean that we are "biased." We calls 'em like we sees 'em. I would have called this one just the same if the races were reversed, or if all three men had been of the same race.

Two guys see a young man who stops to take a look-see around a construction site and not remove anything; he then resumes his jogging. The two men race home, get their pickup and arm themselves with a shotgun and a handgun, chase the younger man down the road, stop him, and the younger man jumps out of the truck and confronts the young man and sticks a shotgun in his face and when he struggles, he is shot and killed.

A young guy is now dead because two other guys have played vigilante.

Georgia's law may permit citizens' arrest, but I doubt it permits citizens' execution.

Make up your mind, now your going after the guns, well then best talk to all the ones you defend ,gang bangers about that one.

I don't beleive one word of what you just said. You do care because it is PC to care. You ever try to use their thug lango and that is sickening. Now have a bad day and go save a thug somewhere.

If the home owner didn’t mind him casually glancing at the new house being built and didn’t want to press any charges then what business is it of yours. He didn’t break in. He didn’t steal anything. That’s already been proven by the tapes. You’re acting like this man broke into your house assaulted and robbed you. He didn’t! You’re demonizing this black man because you don’t like black people. That’s not independent thinking. Where’s all this hate coming from? That’s what I’d like to know. You’ve brought up black people shootings, black panthers , the n-hood and all these other things that have nothing to do with this particular man. That’s hateful stereotyping which you’re in denial of.

Who says I’m going after guns. Guns are legal where you live and if everyone did what these vigilantes did, do you seriously think the place you live would be safer.?

Ok some of us are sick and so I apologize for my part in this discussion to whoever I offended. We have enough going on now without hurting each other too.
I've been stuck here since Mar.2nd and I'm sure others have too. Had heart surgery, stroke and partial blindnes justsince Sep.2019. sevral months of bad doctors and bad choices crashing into walls because of it..

The police force that failed to charge Ahmaud Arbery's killers has a 'track record of corruption', with the department facing 17 lawsuits in the past decade and its drug force being dismantled last year after 'extensive misconduct' by its officers.

Glynn County Police Department has been plagued by scandal going right to the top of the chain of command for years, with a local attorney describing so many cases of alleged misconduct that each would fill 'a separate Netflix episode'.

The allegations of corruption run deep, with a damning report in 2019 unearthing what it described as an 'ongoing culture of cover-up' at the department.

The force has come under scrutiny this last week over its handling of the killing of unarmed jogger Arbery, 25, who was shot dead by Gregory McMichael, 64, and his son Travis McMichael, 34, in Brunswick, Georgia on February 23.

Holly maybe you could fix your own nation instead of worrying about whats going on here across the pond.
No sense argueing over all the wrongs until your willing to admit where most of the problems come from.
"you can ignore reality ,but you can't ignore the consequences of ignoring reality" Ayn Rand. Not a big fan of Rand but she was right about this one. Knocking your people down and busted their heads on concret, raping women beheading soldiers in the streets is not nice.
I guess its against the law to speak out in London but we still have a resemblence pf free speech here. Not for long of course.

More inspiring to see people standing up to crime instead of defending it.
We all have to live here and so why not defend peace and justice instead of crime and viloence?

I never heard of this fellow, but I think his writing is fantastic. It really got to me, in a way that most news articles do not. Check it out.

I don’t smile when I run to be sociable. I smile so I don’t get shot.

Benyam Tesfai is a digital marketing executive in Dallas.

DALLAS — I wish going for a run were as simple as lacing up my shoes and pounding the pavement. Sadly, this couldn’t be further from the truth.

Before I step outside of the house, I run through a mental checklist:

Is my beard too thick?

Is it too dark outside?

Am I dressed like a runner? God forbid I wear mesh b-ball shorts and a loose T-shirt in the suburbs of Dallas.

Then, while on the run, I have to consider:

Is my rap music too loud? Can they hear it?

Does my cap, worn backward, send the wrong message?

Do I open up my stride now or wait until I get out of the neighborhood and into the open roads so I don’t appear to be running away from something or someone?

How many times have I looked over my shoulder on this block? Does that look suspicious?

Then there is scenario planning while running — if this, then that:

If you see a young white woman on same path, cross street immediately and try not to make eye contact twice.

If there is a white older woman/man on same path, wave/nod/smile, cross street casually.

If you’re running behind them and they don’t hear you, cough loudly/clear throat, cross street.

If the sidewalk is narrow, always give way to walkers or bikers and step into the grass or street, even though you’ve shattered your ankle twice, once on grass and once stepping into the street from the sidewalk.

Turn down volume on music when passing by neighbors. Need to be able to respond if they say something — don’t want to come off profiled as angry black man.

If a raised pickup truck approaches, immediately take to the sidewalk and get a good look at driver. High alert. Ready to dive into someone’s yard in case he swerves into me.

It sounds crazy until it’s not.

What’s sad is that I’ve been performing this mental exercise while running since I was 16. I’m 37 now, and I expect I’ll continue doing it for as long as I live, or at least as long as I can run.

I’m not worried about the Rottweiler in the front lawn next door. Or the bobcat that prowls the neighborhood, or even the occasional coyote. I worry mostly that one of my neighbors may one day fear me. So at Mile Five, when I’m sucking wind, sweating in 90-degree heat with an elevated heart rate, you’ll always catch me across the street waving frantically and smiling.

Not because I’m so sociable — just because I don’t want you to shoot. It’s easier to prioritize other people’s comfort and safety ahead of my own because it yields predictable and desired outcomes.

For some people, safety is a shotgun. For others, such as myself, safety is accepting that power structures continue to bend in favor of the privileged, and that all you can really do is figure out how to navigate until your time on this earth is over.

No one should have to live like this, but many of us do. What’s worse is that no institution, future politician or individual could say or do enough to restore my confidence in humanity to make me feel differently about a jog around the neighborhood.

And this is just my experience while jogging. Just imagine how I — just imagine how we — go about the rest of our lives.
