All Things Pagan Thread

This is a nice little spell and I'm pretty sure I have all the components. I'm thinking of doing this one in front of a mirror, whilst staring into it, as well.

So, I've only done this once when I meant to make it a daily thing. I don't know, it was kind of creepy. I do want to do it again, but what if something scary jumps out at me in the mirror? On the other hand, what if I get answers or comfort of some sort? Wouldn't that be just freaking lovely. :giggle:

Today is Imbolc which means we are halfway through winter! Woot! And the better news here is that it's not going to be like this right up until Spring Equinox. We'll get through this dead of winter thing soon and then the temps will start warming up and the days will get brighter and longer as we move toward spring. 💐

I've been out of it for a while. I can't believe that I missed Imbolc! Thanks for the reminder.

Because I believe it to be true, I find this both unsettling and comforting. Also, I believe this to be a major component in the hexing, cursing (pick your witchy verb) of others. My answer to the question: "Can you really hex me?" is, "Yes. But only because you believe I can." Not that I hex people.

I was once teaching an online friend how to find her inner magic. As we progressed, and she was becoming aware of her own abilities, she started to get scared. She told me that she was afraid that she would hurt someone.

I assured her that she couldn't. The magic that we were bringing out was who SHE is, and she is not the kind of person to hurt others. The fact that she was concerned was proof that it couldn't happen! 😉

When I was around 40, and doing the Buddhist monk thing, I asked to be taught about dark magic. For about 6 months I practiced, making hexes, drawing people to me, changing the entire atmosphere of a gathering. I explored my power and how to project it, or make it invisible.

Interesting juxtaposition being a monk and studying darker magicks. How did that go for you?

I beautiful moment of realization for her, you brought out. 🤗

We all have darker energies, but they are not going to slip out and harm others without direction. She obviously had pure intentions as shown by her concern. So very unlikely she's going to release a Kraken on the world. ;)

You know, it's just occurred though --what a cool moment for her to be feeling her own magick so strongly as to become concerned about it's potential power. That's pretty awesome. Sounds like you really helped her come into her grow.

I was instructed to use this power to assist others. I think I was a bit corrupted by it. Sometimes I got in situations that were questionable. I was too aggressive and confident in an ego type way. Magic needs to stay as invisible as possible. I learned to not focus on the causes of life's happenings to learning to take no credit for anything. :)

So where does all this power come from that you all embrace. To be up front I don't agree with anything I have read in 17 pages. Who's got the courage to reply.
I am asking you with love and respect, please do not come into my thread trying to start an argument.

That's not what this thread is about and I do not want that kind of energy here.

If you want to argue religion, please start your own thread. ❤️

To be honest, there are many incredible phenomena in this world, and some things that have happened around me cannot be explained by science even to this day. These events have convinced me that curses are real, and they carry severe backlash.

These things truly happened around me. When I was young, people I knew would curse others. It wasn’t just one person doing this—there were several. They would find a way to obtain something personal from the person they wanted to curse, such as clothing, hair, or nails, anything connected to the cursed person. Then they would get their birth time (in our culture, there is a small booklet recording our birth times down to the hour). After that, they would slaughter chickens or ducks and perform certain rituals.

During these rituals, a bell would be used. They would shake the bell while telling their ancestors about their own misfortunes and expressing the misfortune they wished upon the cursed person. Most curses were intended to bring bad luck to the target, and in extreme cases, even cause death. I don’t know if it’s mere coincidence, but as far as I know, those who were cursed and died often lost their lives within a short time, and the people who cast the curses would also pay a corresponding price.:eek::eek::eek:

Happens to me too; sometimes I miss the Summer Solstice or the Autumn Equinox or some other day. Nice thing about the Pagan umbrella; no obligatory celebrating. ❤️
It's nice not having to be encumbered with celebrating, worship, or God forbid, pleading with Earthly cycles. The seasons come and go, and they do it all without my help or approval. But I am grateful to be a part of it.

Today is Lupercalia.

I was so excited about this holiday (this is my first time marking it), that I posted about it way back in early January.

Now here we are on the day and I'm too sick to celebrate it. 😭

I/we will, just a bit later, but still, dammit.

Oh well. And although I'm pretty sure I'm the only one on SF marking this day... Happy Lupercalia, everyone! ♥️💓💕💗
