Hello Everyone,

Just to introduce myself with a description about what makes me happy. Lately it's my exercise class. We do exercise to music on Mondays which starts the week with a cheerful tune...mostly rock songs from the past. Another interest is painting. On Wednesdays I teach art to a group at the Woodlawn Centre near me. Besides this I paint watercolours of landscapes and people This plus my other volunteer work at a charity keeps me busy.

Forgot to mention that I am taking a writing class as well. We've been asked to do a Christmas Play and I want to do a comedy. One of the things I enjoy is laughter. Glad to be on this site and hope to get involved in some of the discussions.

Best Wishes, Nina:rolleyes:

Welcome, Nina!

You caught me out there for a moment when you mentioned the Woodlawn Centre - back home in NY we had a place called the Woodlawn Cemetery.

I thought perhaps you were teaching your students how to paint very still still-lifes. :p

I think you'll find plenty of laughter on this site - many of the members are gifted comedians, even when they're trying to be serious. I don't include myself in that group, however, as I am quite a serious fellow at all times. :apathy:

Welcome Nina, we too love a laugh.

Like Phil, Woodlawn evoked cemetery to me too. Even down here in OZ just about every largish town has a Woodside Nursing Home and/or a Woodlawn Cemetery.

I paint/daub a little too but just a hobby.

Hi Nina, welcome to the forum, you are a woman of many talents, hope you will post some of your paintings.
Your exercise class is just what I need in my 'quest' to lose weight, cutting back on food in the attempt, while it is having the desired affect, is slow going.

Look forward to your posts.

Welcome aboard! Hop into the conversation anywhere you feel comfortable. And.... don't believe Phil for a minute. He isn't serious all of the time as you'll soon find out!:playful:

Hello Nina!

Just joined up so I need to get used to navigating these forums.

Sounds like you keep active which is definitely the way to go! I am in the UK (n Ireland) though I am an American. I volunteer also and have a background in art. We seem to have that in common anyway.

All the best!
