Always check under your car for bombs and pythons

Bombs under cars in OZ only happen on TV or in the movies, but pythons could be more of a problem.

I hasten to add that carpet snakes like this one are non venomous and pretty docile. They make good pets and bite less than a cranky cat.

Maybe this is a gross question, but what happens if you try to drive the car not knowing the snake is down there?

If there were a snake like that in my car, I'd walk.

I'd be walking too Butterfly.

All sorts of creatures have hitched rides in vehicles either in the engine space or underneath and survived the journey.
I guess the snake would have hung on tight until it was safe to drop down and slither away.

We're the opposite - snakes are unusual, but I spent a lot of time on the floor in the 70s and 80s checking the car for bombs, every time you got in, several times a day!

Few of us did not have a bit of plastic in the boot to kneel on!

I once came back to the car, with family, and saw that the bonnet(hood) had been popped. It was a false alarm (probably disturbed) but pretty terrifying!

That snake might be harmless, but I wouldn't pull it out from under my car!
