A nine-year-old girl has become the third child to die after the Southport stabbing attack at a Taylor Swift-themed holiday dance class.

The latest tragedy comes a day after a knife rampage that had already left two girls - aged just six and seven - dead.

The latest child - aged nine - died in the early hours of Tuesday morning, Merseyside Police confirmed.

Five further children aged between six and 11 remain in a critical condition alongside two female adults who 'bravely tried to protect them'.

A 17-year-old boy remains in custody accused of murder and attempted murder and is being questioned following the incident in Southport, Merseyside, on Monday.

If I were the judge this boy should never(!) in his life being free again.

We have all sorts of youth violence in my area these days. A few weeks ago two teens got into a fight at a shopping mall. One pulled a gun and fired at the other. He missed the teen he was fighting with and killed a 13 year old girl standing nearby who had nothing to do with the fight. Another 16 year old was shot in a shoot out by various hoodlums. Again, he had nothing to do with either, but was in the area of the fight. A teen was shot and killed in front of a high school. It might be gang related or not. There are a few more shootings but I can’t remember the details. All of the above is just this year.

Police are having a hard time investigating these incidents since a new laws makes it difficult to question underage people without a lawyer present. And, the number of police in the state is way down from what it should be and way below the national average. They are over worked.

Have no words, I wonder how parents cope with this ever present fear, when teenagers going about their normal lives could be wounded or killed.

Back in the stone age when I was young, older kids looked out for the younger ones. They would protect like parents which is, or was, the normal thing for humans to do.

I think the violence we are seeing is more of a collective mental health problem because the entire world has experienced such instability across the board for so many years, everyone's stress levels are maxed out and outrageous acts follow.

...but again...we're ignoring the fact that he's yet another criminal immigrant. The vast majority of serious crimes in the last few years..including knives used by teens against each other is carried out by Immigrants or immigrants children...

Indeed, a lot of things we knew nothing about.

It’s not enough to avoid gangs and hoodlums. If they happen to be near a person when they decide to shoot at each other, an innocent gets shot.

The little innocents who died at the hands of a madman while they danced....

Police clash with an unruly crowd gathered near the site of UK stabbing attack that killed 3 girls

LONDON (AP) — Police clashed with an unruly crowd of far-right protesters outside a mosque Tuesday in northwest England near where three girls were fatally stabbed in a dance class as demonstrators, some in masks, hurled bottles and stones at officers, Merseyside police said.

Police said the crowd was believed to be supporters of the English Defence League, a far-right group, and the unrest was inspired by speculation about the teenage boy arrested in the stabbing that injured 10 other people, including seven who were in critical condition.

“There has been much speculation and hypothesis around the status of a 17-year-old male who is currently in police custody and some individuals are using this to bring violence and disorder to our streets,” Merseyside Assistant Chief Constable Alex Goss said. “We have already said that the person arrested was born in the UK and speculation helps nobody at this time.

3 children are dead... see above I have posted their pictures... 2 teachers are fighting for their lives..I've posted the picture of one.. the other hasn't been available... 11 more children are in hospital...

Currently there's riots on the streets of Southport. The white people are burning the Mosques....
Ah, @hollydolly, you beat me to it. I was just about to post this story. Sounds like things are getting really wild.

This is such a sad story. So many people killed and seriously injured, and so very young. It's just heartbreaking.

22 police officers were injured and a major incident has been declared following violent scenes during a protest in Southport. Police said they were dealing with a disturbance which took place during a protest on St Luke's Road on Tuesday.

Bricks taken from garden walls were used to attack officers and cars belonging to members of the public were set on fire. Eight police officers sustained serious injuries including fractures, lacerations, a suspected broken nose and concussion.

Other officers suffered head injuries and serious facial injuries. One was knocked unconscious.

North West Ambulance Service said it has declared a major incident due to the high number of resources required at scene and the ongoing disturbance. The ambulance service said it has treated 22 police officers and so far, 11 of those have been taken to hospital.

This was posted 2 days ago..on Monday ( it's Wednesday here now)>..
I meant the story about the rioting after the attacks. That happened in the past 24 hours, right? I may have missed something.

Update: Ahhh, I think my post was unclear. It sounds like I was referring to the initial (awful) stabbing attack. I should have been clearer.

...but again...we're ignoring the fact that he's yet another criminal immigrant. The vast majority of serious crimes in the last few years..including knives used by teens against each other is carried out by Immigrants or immigrants children...

Because it is irelevant. He was born in Britain and lived all his life there.

All countries are filled with immigrants and therefore children of immigrants and crimes are committed by people of all races and backgrounds.
