Am genuinely worried about what is happening in UK

Elon Musk needs to be returned to the country of his birth!
I can’t believe we have someone on this forum who would actually say something like that.
What if I said that about Douglas Eze?

That’s the same as saying “Go back to where you came from” which was old racist term.

I think we have people on here that are plain jealous of a man with wealth, knowledge and incentive.
I also believe some people don’t like him because of his political views.
This is one of the things wrong with our country. Jealousy and hate will get us nowhere, except what we are seeing today with high inflation, open borders and hate. We can deny all we want, but hate will never make us the strong country we once were.
We used to praise people that were innovators and showed that their incentive pushed them ahead.

Why would you assume jealousy? I mean, who wouldn't rather have than not have, but I can't imagine what life would be like with Musk's wealth. That said, I don't hold him in special regard just because he has money. I don't hold rich people are being necessarily better or worthy than the poor. I think we know, especially here, that the value of life isn't measured in dollars and cents.

As for hate, that's also going a bit far, isn't it? Musk has no impact on our daily lives, you cant's really hate someone you don't know. That said, not all innovators are equal. No-one would be talking about Musk's political beliefs if he didn't make them obvious himself, so it's fair game (though not on this site, obviously).

Not that this is a Musk thread.

We could quibble over what "impossibly rich" means, but when someone can buy Twitter for 44bn, and then paid himself 46bn from Tesla, then I'm going to say that's impossibly rich. There's extreme danger in anyone having as much influence as he has, imo.

I don't think you understand the English language.

BTW, rich people do not have to play by the same rules us normal Joes do. They have all kinds of loopholes, tax breaks, etc. So what?

The main message I get from your response is that, on this topic, you're not worth talking to. My understanding of the English language is just fine, thank you. That you would choose that tone in response to the quoted text speaks of your anger, while all the while you're accusing others of being "jealous" and hateful. That's very very strange.

I'd be happy to discuss the topic of the thread with you, but when it comes to Musk, I don't wish to interfere with your love affair. As such, I'll ignore any further comments from you on Musk. Have a good day.

We could debate the man for some time, but he has no role to play in deciding what our society does. I accept his money will help him buy influence, but I see no reason to think he'd do it for anything other than selfish reasons.
I only endorse one person this year for Pres. ( She will remain unnamed. ) As for your politics and trouble in the UK they show some similarities to the U.S.. They both feel like a tinder box about to be lit on fire. As for Musk, you mentioning him for his wealth is significant. Large sums of money are influencing politics, and it continues to get worse. How is the average citizen fight such massive power? Why all this fighting if our countries are so wealthy. The wealthy do not share their wealth, except with their cronyism. We sit back a watch the UK citizen destroy towns because of this slaughter. Something is very wrong here.

You don’t make any sense. Too much double talk. You tend to contradict yourself from post to post.

Let's veer away from politics. We live in strange times where people claim they want their government back, but would gladly hand it to billionaires. Weird.

OMG! I would call him a baby! He's a mere child!

I also think it's best to keep this in context. He's British (although if he's anything like others I know, he'd demand to be described as Welsh). He's had a Christian upbringing, and was very active in his local church, as was/is his mother. Those who know him are apparently shocked at this switch in him. My guess - without foundation at the moment - is that like too many, he's been radicalized via Social Media. Alternatively, he's had a complete mental break.

I'll extend my not talking to you about Musk to not discussing your personal views on me. You don't like me, I'm over it already. If I'm unclear, or contradictory on a topic, then I suggest you do what any normal forum member would do, and ask for an explanation. Or not, whatever suits. Now, let's just move on. It's really not important what you think of other forum members.

Aren't there 6 likely candidates for the ballot in most States? Do we all get to thump the tub for our choices as well?

I thought that was forbidden here, or are some animals more equal than others?
I think you can write in anyone you want. Could be your grandpa. :)
