Am I the only one who's tired of Boomer Bashing?

Not just Boomer Bashing but all the cr@p extolling the virtues of Gen X, Millennials (aka Gen Y), Gen Z.

JFTR, I'm part of the Silent Generation.

Boomers? Geez, I don't know any Boomers who have avocado green appliances, (faux) wood paneled rooms, shag carpet, kitchen carpet, landlines and the whole nine yards of "undesirable" home decor. Then there are the articles that insist on what not to wear, how to style themselves (including hair!) so as not to look like Boomers. All those articles we see about such? Dollars to donuts they've been written by Gen X or Gen Y.

I also don't know any Boomers who are wrinkled, flabby, old crabby-looking women, balding men who are equally as crabby looking and flabby, or who don't just look crabby but really are.

My take on Boomers is that they're fit, friendly, stylish, tech savvy, and not likely to hang onto useless stuff for their kids to inherit.

Gen X, Gen Y, Gen Z? The ones who are old enough to have kids enroll them in everdamnthang whether the kids want to be involved or not. They run themselves and their kids ragged from this lesson to that, practice for whatever whenever. Lord only knows when they relax, have fun, sleep or eat a meal cooked at home while sitting down together and discussing their days.

If most of what I read is so, these over-achieving Gens are in credit card debt up to their eyeballs, have personal coaches for fitness, lifestyle and even job hunting. They're financially and emotionally exhausted and way too many have jobs they loathe but that pay so much they can't leave...yanno because that boat, that big house, those new or recent-model cars and those lessons for the kids cost big bucks.

Whatever on earth did the Silents and the Boomers do without all of the above? We survived in the world we had. The Gens? Seems to me that they're more inclined to keep up with the Joneses than the Silents and Boomers ever were.

Flame away!

ETA: I forgot to mention therapy. The Gens? They're in therapy. Not a clue about insight, personal problem solving, logic...therapy. Gotta wonder if their therapists are Boomers  :ROFLMAO:

The Gens seem to think Boomers created all the problems that exist or ever did with their generations. It's easier to point the finger than to look inside themselves for self-awareness and insight.
Kate, this is no exaggeration... it's everywhere has been for years.. it's viscous at times too.. Bordering on mass murder of anyone over 60 if they could get it done legally... . We're the cause of every single woe they have... we are the biggest drain on society...

not all gen xers are

people in their 30s now call each other boomers just because they're older. they consider anything over 30 to be old. i don't pay much attn to it. until they ask me "isn't it past your bedtime?"

Add me to that list. I haven't noticed it either. Maybe because I'm one of the physically fit boomers and no one wants to take me on?
:ROFLMAO:
no-one takes us on personally.. it's hate posts online everywhere... seriously everywhere.. has been for years. Lately in the UK these generations of whom we gave life, have been calling for Boomers to stop receiving State pension... because we're a 'drain on society'... not one of them stopping to think that we worked for 50 years for what amounts to a pittance in State pension... but this is just one little item in a long list of complaints from the younger generation towards Boomers and older...

Therapy can be a valuable tool in improving one’s capacity to employ the techniques you have described. Also, sometimes, things occur in a person’s life which are simply too devastating to manage without help. Yes, this therapist is a Boomer. Basically, I teach coping mechanisms.

The only people I hang around with are from my fitness center, so I don't know any flabby, crabby old people. Some are getting wrinkled though. Most of the "youngsters" there are surprised when they find out I'm 75.

Oh, and I still use my GE avocado hand mixer that I got back in the 70s. Works great.

I have no issue with it. Every generation complains about the older generation in western society. I'm prime boomer (1951) and I occasionally bash us, too. Too many of us live in some sort of idealized past. I was there, there are no "good old days". I actually prefer my millennial kids to most boomers.

I'm smack dab in the center of the boomer years... and I didn't even know we were being bashed. Goofy li'l whippersnappers. I don't have avocado green appliances... but I do like it on toast. šŸ„‘šŸž
I'm sorry, you'll have to turn in your boomer card. We're not supposed to like avocado toast ( I love it)!
