Amazing Seniors

My good friend Gary Elliott has been racing oval track stock cars for FIFTY YEARS this year. He started in 1972, so 2022 will be his half century mark. He is 75 this year. He races in the Maritime Late Model Tour in eastern Canada. He races AND WINS against 20 something drivers. He has been sponsored by Quaker State Motor Oil for 50 years . A world record for a driver sponsorship in any type of motor racing . I crewed for him in the 1970's and we are still in touch with each other weekly. Tough old bird, has forgotten more about setting up a race car than most people ever knew. He still does most of the work on his race car himself. Never too busy to talk to the fans, and especially the little kids. A true ambassador for his sport. I kid him that when he goes to heaven, he will be racing electric wheel chairs in the unlimited senior division. JimB.
