American Royality

Interesting. I particularly liked the homes of Taylor Swift, Simon Cowell and Ellen de Generes but the rest are not as appealing.

Still, I wouldn't trade places with any of them. I like my little shack.

The bigger the house, the more work to keep it up. I too will stick to my little turtle shell.

Oh just see how fast I'd trade with 'em. I'm sure they'd be much happier in our little 2-bedroom villa or the RV than their big mansions. In fact, I think it would be my Christian duty to trade with them. I'd probably be able to hold out financially for a day or so and then I'd have to start renting out rooms.... Anybody looking for a place to live?

The point is the obscene opulence and the brutal poverty in America. The middle class has all but gone away and we peasants have put these people in those mansions.

I like Rob Lowe' house best, but I'd have to be a billionaire to live in any of them, think of the upkeep and the staff costs..wow!! They must be huge.

When you said Hollywood royalty Jim, I thought you meant those who were running the country....I never think of Actors as anything but vastly overpaid ordinary people...although many of them seem to think they are royalty

It's the same here, Jim. Very rich, very poor and those in the middle are shrinking fast.

Even if I had 100 million dollars, I don't see the point of owning anything as big as those. What do you do, just walk around and look all the rooms in the house all day? I'm sure I would own something nice, but the view would be the most important factor.....not the size of the house.

I wouldn't feel comfortable in one of those homes. We live in 600 square foot but we do have a huge yard and our storage sheds (to store stuff for yard sales we have twice a year) and a shop. If money were no object I'd live in a little big bigger house but nothing huge and fancy.

I'm almost content with my condo and lucky to have it, but wish I had a 3rd bedroom and a basement. When I bought, this was the best I could do in the area I needed and for what I could spend.

I agree. There is no need for a massive house. I would like a couple more guest rooms as we do get a lot of them, but that's it. And a conservatory.

I think a gigantic house is a sad thing, especially if there for only one or two occupants. Its fine for a large family though or if there are a lot of people coming to stay regularly. Otherwise its just a huge curio cupboard - for objects to be stored.
