Let's say we have a polite, if a bit stiff relationship. I have to be very careful to stay away from certain subjects. My ex is in considerable financial difficulty and my son's have had to bail her out repeatedly. I'm sure if I die before she does the money I leave my sons will largely go to support their mother.

Were I in your position Josiah, I would hope my kids were as kind to their mother as you feel yours are. You should be proud of them. Remember blood IS thicker than water.

I also have a good relationship with mine though I have never seen my ex since we left the courtroom and she now lives in another state. Marriage is the toughest thing that one can ever do and I wish her well...
