An aging problem re: penmanship

I had nice penmanship/printing ability but after spending all my working life doing lots of typing/data entry, my hand can barely hold a pen anymore and my writing/printing is awful. Probably also due to loss of strength in my hands, not sure.

I have same issue. My Neurologist dx'ed 'Essential Tremor' and rx'ed Primidone along with Tremadol from Amazon. Even after one year later on those remedy, I still have been unable to write nice 'Cursive.'
It says, Neurolotrasmitter has been degraded as we age, not everyone but some elderly, so I try my best to write Signature(cursive) on bank checks and other formal papers.

I wonder if other people have the same problem as me when it comes to spelling. If I'm writing by hand, the words flow easily, with no problem spelling. On a keyboard, I have to keep a dictionary by my side because I struggle with the spelling of certain words. 'Spellcheck' is no use to me because I'm English and many words are spelled differently.
When ARE you "English" going to learn how to speak and spell "English"?
(Reply by an "English" speaking American.) :)

I got penmanship awards back in the day. I had beautiful handwriting but over the years, it's changing. Still nice, I guess but not like it was. I'm sorry you're having difficulty even holding a pen Jace! I hope that somehow you get relief from that. I've never heard of weighted pens before.

@Dave03 Best wishes and warm regards backatcha. @PeppermintPatty at least your writing is neat and legible. Yours too Dave.

I’m fortunate to still have penmanship that I get complimented on. I know that I’m bragging but it’s beautiful. One of my elementary school teachers stressed the importance of good cursive penmanship to the class, “Your lawyer should be able to read your letters from prison.”

Hand on heart, I promise that it is my handwriting, not something that I have plagiarised. What I didn't add, or own up to, if you like, is that where I could once upon a time, pick up my fountain pen and produce that kind of cursive, freehand, nowadays it's a lot more involved.

You see how level the words are, how concentric each letter is, even down to the flourishes? That's achieved by inserting a ruled line page under the page that I am writing on. Those ruled lines run vertical as well as horizontal, that's how each letter is of similar size.

There's something else too, the written piece is first written lightly, in pencil, then carefully checked and when all is correct, written over in ink. Finally, when the ink has dried, the whole page is rubbed down with an erasure, that removes all evidence of the pencil lines and leaves the page looking pristine.

Now you know how I achieve the appearance you will understand why, rather than going through all that palaver, I can simply reproduce the the article on the pen-pal thread.
