An 'influencer' want to be is handing out booze and machetes to the homeless in several cities including Austin Texas and New Orleans. Says he has plans to go to more cities. He says he's helping keeping them safe. Is having second thoughts handing out booze because it's not good for those with a substance abuse problem-ya think.

Wannabe influencer hands out massive machetes to homeless people — and he’s coming to NYC

His videos have received 14 million views. 14 million potential copy cats

What possibly could go wrong.

People will do anything for clicks. Anything for fame and attention. Social Media is a disease worse than those machetes. It really isn't a "what could go wrong" type of thing, it's a "I don't care if it goes wrong, I just handed our the weapons, I didn't use them, subscribe to my channel" type of thing.

The primary revenue stream for these people is through advertising. What advertisers would want to be associated with this?!

Selling alcohol without a license is illegal but giving it is not. The machete is a garden tool.

If no one commits a crime or dies. he's probably in the clear legally. If not he might be charged with somekind of acesserory or facilitation charges along with getting his butt sued off.

That's likely true, but the thing that gets me is that is being done purely for clicks. There is no other purchase than to pull in advertising dollars. That's the real crime here, that society has sunk to such a low for the purposes of entertainment.

What in tarnation is an "influencer," anyway?
A mostly online celebrity whose fame is determined by the number of views and likes their videos, blogs, websites get. Some merge into the real world but mainly a social media phenomia.

I had to learn/figure that too especially when I don't recognize their names yet they are in celebrity headlines.

I thought: What do they need manchet buttons for? 1764580256809.jpeg

Oh they're knives. Not cufflinks.

They're vaguely similar to effluencers...
I'll see myself out. 😋

It's all part of the modern day madness. The more extreme a point of view, the more attention they gain. Which is why we get crazed political commentators being spoken of as though they somehow more knowledgeable than anyone else. They're even considered to be celebrities. Still, it's a very effective way to spread misinformation, and silo's being what they are, a fine method for convincing others we all must think alike.
