And in other news we have a major wildfire to contend with...

As an Australian who has just seen the aftermath of our worst fire season in about century, I hope you are all ready for the Summer of 2020. Don't let the fires take your eyes off the pandemic.

Interesting admonition. What, you should keep your eyes on the panic-demic, while the approaching wildfires threaten to burn you to a crisp? I think I'd certainly reorder priorities, in this matter........

I believe what we are seeing with the changes in the weather, drought, mega storms is global warming. And with the riots, we are seeing how fragile a 21st century nation truly is. I wonder if global warming keeps increasing, and causing more havoc, how will that affect our lives, governments, etc? What the hell, what is just one more worry.

@Warrigal It's funny in a bad way that you mention that because many people in the state had started to go back to their "normal" ways. Cases are way up and the LA Times ran an article about how the kids are flocking to Scottsdale's Old Town night clubs and ignoring the social distancing. As a result local cities in Arizona were given the OK by the Governor yesterday to make wearing masks mandatory in the cities that approve the measure.

As far as the fire itself, they are nothing new in Arizona this time of year. The only difference now is there are now developments in places that were once desert land or mountain land. This fire does not compare at all to the horrible fires Australia suffered. Thankfully there are no strong winds so hopefully it will be contained soon.
